Retired owner rents out only 1 of the 3 farmhouse buildings renovated with style and antiques. Fantastic views on valley with stream. Close to renowned Belleme Golf, historical manors and castles. Downstairs : Large farmhouse-style kitchen diner with fireplace, full amenities, sofabed for 2. New en-suite shower room and WC. Upstairs: One huge open plan room with 4 single beds, bathroom, windows on all sides. Access through outside stairs. Parking for several cars. Unrestricted use of garden and outside fireplace/BBQ.

The Normandy / Orne region

A green region bearing testimony to its historical past, Le Perche is full of 15th and 16th century manors, castles, and churches. But ancient villages can now accommodate keen golfers and horse-riders. It is quite hilly with many forests and natural parks.

Conveniently, we are less than a couple of hours drive away from such highlights as Paris, Versailles Palace, the Loire valley and its castles and vineyards; and historical coastal towns (Cherbourg, Rouen and its cathedral)

Historical towns of Belleme and Mortagne au Perche - Medieval churches and ancient houses - gourmet local cuisine - cider and calvados! - Tasteful shops for real bargain-hunting, antique furniture and local crafts - swimming pools, tennis court 1 mile away, english-speaking tea-rooms.

But also many opportunities for strolls / jogs / horseback rides in the nearby forest with its Roman fountain and ruins. A few miles away from la Chevroliere you will find a golf, a motorcross circuit, "educational" farms for children, and we are miutes away from a vast forest enclosure with tame deer who will come and eat from your hand!

Contact the tourist board for details of the classical music programmes in June and September, and mycological week ends (for mushroom enthusiasts), the local Centre Park (50 min drive away), and much more

How to get there

Le Pin la Garenne is a small village on the D938 between Belleme and Mortagne au Perche in the Orne department, in Southern Normandy.


As you come out of Le Pin la Garenne towards Belleme on the D938, after half a mile you will see agricultural buildings to your right with silos. Take the small turning on the left just before those buildings. La Chevroliere is signposted, but it's easy to miss this turning. Follow the road until the T junction. Go left, follow the road between a couple of houses. (We are right at the end, it's a dead end) until you pass the gates. Welcome to la Chevroliere

Possibility of renting a 2nd cottage within the property, for 350 £ per week. Ideal for cousins or friends.

Ground floor :Private entrance,1 sunny spacious double room with french doors onto private terrace - 1 single room also with access to the terrace - 1 shower room and separate toilet. Coffee-machine, linen provided.
Upstairs : spacious lounge with baby grand piano.

This 2nd house doesn't have cooking facilities and is only available in addition to the described self-catering cottage. Please ask for details when making your booking, we'll be happy to provide more info!

Further details outdoors:
The vast garden will be in bloom all over the summer. It is very secure, fenced all around and with an automatic gate (you lend you a key fob). You are welcome to pick apples, pears, raspberries and cherries, unless the birds got them first!
Extremely quiet, the property enjoys great views of the countryside.
