1 bed self catering apartment in morecambe. sleeps 2 but has a bed settee in the lounge which could accommodate an extra person or child ( 1 child under 12 FREE) would consider 2 children.) . The beach is just across the road and is visible from the lounge window. there is a childrens play park also just across the road. the area is in a regeneration area which has had a lot of money spent on the beach and promenade and is ongoing. there has also been planning past on the m6 link road to Heysham which will start in July. They are also going to build a park and ride. Morecambe Bay is known for its coastal lagoons, salt marshes and varied animal life and is very popular for bird watching. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets within walking distance. also a chip shop. there is a tarmac area behind where some houses have been demolished and it is used as a free car park. there is also a row of brand new houses and apartments and they also use the car park. there are always plenty of spaces. the doctors surgery is also in walking distance just around the corner. the galleon apartment is in what used to be a public house which is no longer open for now. but may open again in the future. the building is over 100 yrs old.and has kept the original stained glass windows. the apartment has been re-decorated. it has the original windows at the front but double glazing at the back. it offers a good value self catering apartment for less than the price of a hotel room. PLENTY OF HEATING AND HOT WATER WHICH IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE (SUBJECT TO FAIR USAGE POLICY) . .

morecambe bay is known for its coastal lagoons, salt marshes and varied animal life. it is very popular for bird watching. there is golf. bingo. guided bay walks. there is a lovely view of the lakeland hills across the bay. there is a kite flying festival. an air show. lots of live bands in the summer. there is the midland hotel where you can sit and have coffee, meals etc looking over the bay, and they also have different activities going on you can walk there from the galleon apartment. there is a bowling alley within walking distance. also bowls that is also within walking distance. shops. doctors surgery. a lot of people cycle along the promenade and there is a leisure complex at the other end with indoor gym etc. chip shop. Bus stop across the road with regular buses to Lancaster. There is also the Morecambe Football Arena within walking distance.


the city of lancaster is a short distance away you can go by train it takes about 15 min. there are shops, cafes etc. There is also a bus stop across the road from the apartment with regular buses to Lancaster.

"A comfortable and homely stay"

The flat had everything required for a comfortable stay plus useful extras such as shampoo and basic cooking things. Lisa was very kind collecting us from the station as we arrived late by train and w… More

The tv could have been fixed. but i was only informed of it when guests were leaving. i cant fix a problem if i dont know about it.the aeriel had moved.It would have been fixed straight away. Also there were other channels working it was only a couple that werent. We have had extremely bad storms and as i am on the sea front i havnt been able to open front door to let the air flow through. The smell is only a bit musty because of being shut in which is quite understandable under the circumstances. Now the weather is getting better the front door can be open again and everything can improve.I am only a phone call away which i said at the very beginning of the stay and any problems that can be fixed i will do my best.Please dont wait until you leave to review about problems that can be fixed at the time. Im sorry that they put up with the tv for 4 days but never mentioned it. Also because they had arrived late on the tuesday and i picked them up from the station i offered them a free nights stay to make up for it. I think this more than compensates for a couple of minor problems which i am more than happy to fix to make youre stay a good one.

my daughter (who has learning difficulties) and myself had a lovely week staying at The Galleon. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Lisa (the landlady) for whom nothing was too much trouble. Everything was as described in the advert and we found the apartment very comfortable and homely. Another bonus was that Lisa was so easy to get along with and always good for a chat and a laugh. Thanks for everything Lisa and we'll definitely be seeing you again.
