The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
The villa is located on peaceful Cumbre Del Sol (summit of the sun) close to Moraira & Benitachell. Cumbre Del Sol is a high quality maturing development of private villas & apartments situated on the south facing side of a prominent & large headland, giving superb sea views and cool sea breezes on hot summer nights.
Cumbre Del Sol is perfectly situated for access to the best resorts on the Costa Blanca, being just 3 kilometres from the 'jewels' of Moraira and Javea and a short drive from the cosmopolitan towns of Calpe and Denia. The sea and panoramic views from Cumbre Del Sol are breathtaking and on most days you can see the Balearic Islands across the water.
Cumbre Del Sol Beach, a short drive down a picturesque craggy road, is a lovely pebble beach complete with bar and glorious views. The complex has many everyday facilities on site, with banks, restaurants, shops, bars, etc all within walking distance.
Moraira / Cumbre del Sol area
Moraira & Javea
Moraira is part of the municipality of Teulada, situated about four miles inland. In earlier times the centres of population were situated away from the coasts to offer some protection from marauding pirates and invaders - Romans, Moors, Berbers etc. Moraira developed as the fishing port for Teulada, and both the lookout tower (Torre-vigia) on Cap d'Or overlooking Moraira's El Portet beach, and the Castle are reminders of the past.
In more recent times this quiet and peaceful fishing port has become a busy yet pleasant resort. Javea itself is a small, historic town , free of high rise buildings offering a relaxing holiday and contact with a friendly and forthcoming local population.
Javea old town is steeped in history, with tosca stone porticoes, gothic bay windows, wrought iron window bars and balcony railings. The Arenal area is the commercial and tourist part of Javea .
Leisure Activities
In Cumbre Del Sol there is a horse riding centre and tennis courts. The tourist office offers free guided walks of the area in English and Spanish during the summer. Also in summer, pleasure boats sail between Cabo San Antonio and Denia up to 3 times a day.
There are a number of activities for children in the Benidorm area which include Mundomar Marine Park, Aqualandia Water Park and Terra Mitica 'historical' theme park. El Vergel safari park is 20 minutes north (near Denia) and also in the area are a number of go-karting tracks.
Valencia City is well worth a visit for the Central Market, and the 'Oceanographic (spectacular aquarium) that forms part of the City of Arts and Sciences.
Golfing Activities
Within 10 minutes drive of the villa is Javea Golf Club situated between Moraira and Javea and is open all year round. The course is a 9 hole, par 72 and 3,035 metres. The course is easy to play and relatively flat. Other facilities include: driving range, putting green, heated swimming pool, club bar and restaurant.
La Sella Golf Club is 15 minutes drive inland near the village of Jesus Pobre. The course has 18 holes, par 72 and is 6,029 metres. The course although flat has many trees and water obstacles. This is a private members club open to the public. Facilities include: driving range, putting green, motorised trolleys, club bar, lounge bar, restaurant and swimming pool.
Both Javea and La Sella clubs have tennis and squash courts. Within a half hour drive north in Oliva is Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. This testing course 18 holes, par 72 and 7,051 metres. The club has a shop, driving range, restaurant, swimming pool and fitness centre.
How to get there
Fly to Alicante or Valencia airports then take the A7/E15 motorway to junction 63. After toll booths go via Teulada and Benitachell to Cumbre Del Sol.
