A pleasant 25 minute walk takes you into the up-market and cosmopolitan centre of Moraira with several bars, restaurants and shops to suit all ages and tastes. Moraira also boasts it´s own safe and sandy beach with water sports nearby.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
The Costa Blanca or White Coast extends along the eastern coast of Spain (approximately in the middle) and covers the province of Alicante.
This area is not as cold or wet in the winter as the Costa Brava, north of Costa Blanca, nor is it as humid or hot in the summer as the Costa del Sol, in the south. The Costa Blanca has the best all year round temperatures. The weather is recognised as one of the best in the world by the World Health Organisation.
It has over 100 kms of sandy beaches and rocky coves and many of the beaches have the coveted European Blue Flag signifying cleanliness and safe bathing.
There are large amounts of flights into Alicante airport, especially from Northern Europe. Further to the south of the Costa Blanca is Murcia airport. With the advent of many low-cost airlines & with flying time being only approx 2 hours many people now visit this region of Spain for long weekends.
It has something for everyone from tiny rural inland villages to cosmopolitan tourist resorts on the coast such as Benidorm. Whilst it isn't necessarily a place one would go to see historical monuments (although there are many). It's attractions lie in it's beauty - the amazing vivid blue Mediterranean waters, the lovely sandy beaches, the old towns and villages with their old narrow streets, the restaurants and bars where one can sit and relax outside because of the wonderful all-year round climate. It's simply a wonderful place in which to enjoy life (as we should do but often don't) and feel rejuvenated and refreshed. Visit the Costa Blanca - you will love it.
Moraira / El Portet area
Both Moraira and El Portet have safe, sandy beaches to laze away your days. For the more active, there are several areas of natural beauty for walkers - the Cumbre del Sol, which is close by for one with three different walking routes. The Cap D'or which towers over the bay at El Portet is a challenging up-hill climb, but well worth it once at the top with magnificent views around the coastline.
For kids, there is a small and discreet funfair in Moraira suitable for ages up to 12. There is also a good and safe Go-Karting track on the road into Teulada and just a 10 minute drive from the villa. Benidorm is just a 25 minute drive with several famous attractions including Aqualand with spectacular waterfalls and slides and the theme park - Tera Mitica. Througout the year there are several fiestas and carnivals - the biggest being the Moors & Christians usually around the second weekend in June. Holy week also sees 10 days of festivals which includes street parades, concerts, open-air dances, bull runs and fireworks.
How to get there
The stunning resort of El Portet in Moraira is easily accessed due to being perfectly situated between Alicante and Valencia airports - both of which are served by several low-budget airlines * Approximately 1 hours drive from Alicante * Approximately 1hr 30 mins drive from Valencia * Cheap car hire can be arranged prior to departure or at either airport upon arrival
