About the home

This is a very comfortable villa in all respects. Equipped with central heating and air condition for a year round comfort, it has a nice lounge/diner and three bedrooms, one with an en suite bathroom. All bedrooms and the lounge has air conditioning. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, hob, oven and microwave. The garden is very private with a kidney shaped pool with a shallow end and barbecue. Parking in the garage.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

This region of the Costa Blanca is very attractive with mountains, small towns and beaches all around. A number of golf courses and tennis courts are also nearby. The big town of Benidorm is about 45 minutes drive, close to Aqualandia water park and the new Terra Mitica theme park.

The Moraira / Benitachell area

Moraira, this small popular town is fronted by a life guarded sandy beach, a promenade and marina. Amongst its quiet streets are cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. It also offers clean and attractive shops that cater for just about everything you need, including excellent chemists who converse in English. On Friday mornings Moraira has a very popular market where there is fresh fruit, vegetables, clothes and all manner of other interesting goods on sale.

On second weekend in June there is the annual “Moors and Christians” fiesta weekend – a spectacular event put on by the town locals that is something to be enjoyed by all age groups. Moraira is one of those towns that people - including the local inhabitants - just love to stroll round and take in its life at any hour of the day.


Benitachell, this is a very small non-tourist town between Moraira and Javea with quite a long history behind it. As with most inland towns in this region the main road leaves you ignorant of its inner parts so you really have to explore on foot to see what makes it tick. To the outsider it may not seem a lot at first.

The shops are few and mostly hidden but there is a real community going on here, mostly centred on the church, the school, the town hall that has the responsibility for a number of outlying urbanisations. Walk around this small town, you are always welcome into the church at service times or go into one of the hidden bars, or the market and watch how the people spend their lives together – it might takes you back to the British communities of long ago!

“A great villa in a lovely setting with a spectacular sea view” This is our sixth consecutive summer holiday at Casa La Joya. It has got better every year and I am in the process of booking for next year! The villa is always perfectly clean, the accommodation is spacious and well planned and the pool is private and well maintained. Mike and Sylvia who look after the villa do a wonderful job and nothing seems like it is too much trouble. They have always looked after us so well and I consider them as friends now. Close by are good local shops including a few large supermarkets. The centre of Moraira and the seafront is a few miles away and there are some lovely restaurants, niche shops and a little market. We love this holiday and count the days down until we can return.

“Fabulous villa with beautiful views and a great location” We had a rough start to our holiday, with flight delays, problems with car hire and then we arrived at Benitachell in the dark and looked for the villa. We were struggling and very tired and had to resort to calling Sylvia at 3am!! She met us immediately and took us to the villa and we were all very grateful to be there and to rest at last. When we woke in the morning and saw the fabulous view from the terrace, the beautiful pool and surroundings it more than made up for all travel delays. The inside of the villa was very smart and well looked after and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay there. The local supermarket was only a 5 minute drive down the hill with all the provisions you might need. Moraira town and the Marina was a lovely place to visit and have a wander round. There was a very lively market on a Friday in the main car park in Moraira, selling all sorts of things (the fruit and veg was amazing). It was my daughter's 30th birthday while we were there, which was one of the reasons we were all there together. We booked places at the SolPark on the way into town and had a fantastic night on Sunday 31st July, which just happened to be her birthday. We had great local food, drink and entertainment in the form of Flamenco dancers and dancing horses. They put this on every Sunday during the summer and is well worth a visit. They also have mini golf there and serve good food and drink. The boys in our party went to the Go Karting, which is only a 10 minute drive away and played golf at a nice course about 20 minutes away. We all had a great time in the pool at the villa and enjoyed a few barbeques in the evenings, while watching the sunset behind the mountains. We will definitely be going back to Casa La Joya, it was a fantastic villa and set in a very beautiful, peaceful area. The whole experience was fabulous and we were very well looked after by Sylvia and her husband Mike.
