The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

The town of Moraira was originally a fishing village. Set in a valley running down to the sea. There are no high rise building. There are two beaches. One is in the town and the other is at El Portet which a short drive from the town centre. Club Nautica in the heart of the marina is lovely for a relaxing lunch while watching the boats. Many good restaurants and bars. Prices vary according to the establishment. There are Michelin guide rated and Michelin star restaurants in the area. A couple of night clubs. Children's fair. Marina. Many supermarkets, banks and two Internet shops. Nice gift, clothes and shoe shops. The area is idea for families as the town is quite small, very clean and the Spanish are very friendly. Sol Park tennis club is good for all levels of player and coaching is available.

The Moraira / San Jaime area

Moraira is a beautiful fishing town nestling at the tip of the Cap d'Or peninsular. Surrounded by breathtaking mountains, and a beautiful coastline, it has an abundance of restaurants and bars to suit all budgets and all tastes. Within 20 minutes drive of Moraira you can find yourself in either one of the coastal towns of Javea or Calpe, each very different in character, yet both boasting a fishing port, an old historic centre, and, like Moraira, beautiful blue-flag beaches. A 20 minute drive inland, however, will place you in the Jalon Valley, renowned for vineyards, orange orchards and almond groves. Although a world away, Benidorm is only half an hour away by motorway. Here you can savor the nightlife, bars, restaurants and shops - not to mention one of 4 theme parks. A 20 minute drive inland from Benidorm takes you to the famous medieval mountain fortress of Guadalest. The fabulous historic city of Valencia is just over an hour away by car, or by train from Gandia.
