Villa | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Moraira is the Jewel in the crown of the Costa Blanca, and El porter is the most desirable part of Moraira.
With an elevated position you can spend lazy evenings looking down on the surrounding villas whilst enjoying your own privacy. Views from the Pool and the beautifully glass enclosed Naya (balcony ) out to sea and up into the mountains has to be seen to be believed, it is particularly beautifull in the early evening as the lights go on and the sun sets over the mountains.
Facing South the sun rises over the pool in the East and moves round throughout the day setting over the mountains.
All day sun is yours to enjoy.
Casa Tranquility is only a short distance from the main moraira town with its fabulous bars and restaurants offering everything from very cheap to very expensive.
The beauty of Moraira is its cleanliness, cleaning staff work 7 days a week to maintain its very high standards.
The lack of hotels and night clubs means Moraira is not the place for loud night life and parties, No Hooray Henries means you can walk around the town and enjoy the beautifull food and pavement bars without the embarrassing and sometimes threatening rowdies you get in other resorts.
Liz and I have our own Villa in Moraira and take every opportunity we get to visit the town. In our opinion no where else in the world offers such a great climate and the quality of life you find in Moraira , but then we are biased, however we are sure Once you have been here you will definitely want to come back.
The villa is fully adapted but in such a way that most of the items used by the less able can be removed and stored away if not required.
We automatically remove all the assistive aids after each hire, unless the next hirer has requested them.
When you arrive at Casa Tranquility other than the extra wide doors and hallway you would not know that it is suitable for wheelchair users, but that is the beauty of the way the property has been designed.
If you need the aids then as well as being placed in the villa for you, our local english speaking housekeeper will if required meet you and explain in detail how the equipment operates.
Probably the best way to say how good the villa is would be to quote from a paraplegic Canadian client:-
I've been a paraplegic for 14 years now and my husband and I have travelled to many different places; we've stayed in motels and hotels and homes and villas and seen a variety of what owners and managers call accessible. I am happy to say that the hosts of "Villa Tranquility" in Moraira in the Costa Blanca region of Spain have done it right.
While the surrounding terrain is very hilly and not suitable for wheelchairs, the inside of the home, the deck, pool and car areas of this vacation villa are well thought out and have taken into account the challenges of life in a chair. No bumpy thresholds to deal with, nice wide halls and doorways, and a shower and pool that most chair users will be able to use. Additionally, a level area for your vehicle makes entry into and out of your mode of transportation easy to accomplish.
While power beds that can raise and lower head and feet areas are becoming more common for home use this is the first time I have seen them in a rental. We have one at home and it was great to be able to get my feet up during the day when I needed to. I could still sit up and read without having to find pillows galore to sit up against.
The powered recliners were also a nice treat and something we may consider adding to our home now that we've had a chance to try them out. For us this was a really great way to test something out before making the purchase.
For those of you mobility challenged individuals reluctant to travel because of the unreliability of 'accessible" labels, not to worry, in Casa Tranquility you have found a place that has wonderful views, a gorgeous surrounding and proximity to a wealth of Spanish history and beautiful ocean beaches, while providing the environment you need to get on day to day, whether at home or away. If you want to stay at home and enjoy the pool, it's there. Or if you prefer the beach, there are accessible ones a short distance away; the choice is yours and you won't be disappointed. This villa met all our needs and provided an atmosphere in which to relax and enjoy our hard earned leisure time.
We'll be back. They've done a great job and it wouldn't matter if I regained the ability to walk tomorrow, we'd still visit this villa. They've done a terrific job of renovating a home with a wonderful view and perspective of the surrounding area. We are honestly caught between wanting to tell everyone about this terrific place and wanting to keep a secret to ensure we can book again next year.

Lazy boy recliners, one electric with stand facility and a large 3 seater soft all in high quality Burgungy leather.
There is wifi access throughout the property and a iPod docking station for music lovers.
The satellite TV has all your favourite UK channels The whole villa was rebuilt in 2011 so everything is new including the very high quality Kitchen.
For those that like to cook outside we have a large gas barbecue.
The villa is fully accessible for the less able and wheelchair users however the majority of the aids are stored in a purpose built room at the back of the property and only come out by prior request.
Other than the level access and wider than normal doors you would not know that it was designed originally for the less able.
At the end of the 2012 season we went through the comments book and hopefully have taken on board all the clients recommendation's
New in 2013 you have a new Lazyboy leather suite with a 3 seat sofa one reclining armchair and one rise and recline armchair. We now have free wifi throughout the villa, we have installed a high quality DVD player fitted a night light in the hallway and replaced several kitchen utensils as well as the dripping kettle. There is a new hall stand with coat hooks and storage for keys umbrellas etc.
For the less able you now have the option of a standard spreader bar on the pool hoist or you can choose to carry on using the transport seat as usual. Finally there is now a nice big clock on the wall in the lounge.
If you have any comments please leave them in the book in the villa and or contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
Up until this year 2013 all our bookings were handled by James Villas www.jamesvillas.co.uk and search Casa Tranquility
The Villa is classed as one of their finest and rated very highly by their clients. From this year you can book directly with the owners either via holiday Lettings or www.accessiblespanishvillas.co.uk the villas own web site.

The property is located high up overlooking the surrounding villas.
The road leading up to the villa is quite steep and you really need a car.
Those fit enough can walk up and down to town , about 1.5 miles but driving is far easier and leaves more time to enjoy the town.
The property is accessed through its own electric gate so your car is safely locked away once inside.
Because of its location very little traffic passes the villa and you hardly ever get people walking past so you get a very peacefull holiday
The beautifull sandy beach at El Portet is only half smile away but once again down a fairly steep hill.
Sitting in the cafes at El Portet watching the water break gently onto the clean soft sand is one of lives real pleasures.
Have a Fabulous Holiday
The Costa Blanca/Valencia region
Weather: When it comes to holiday weather, Moraira claims an average 325 days of sunshine a year, and temperatures that stay constantly pleasantly warm, sea breezes ensuring that it is never sweltering in summer, and the surrounding mountains protecting the town from the chilly winter winds.
Overview: Nestled in a pretty bay on the south-east coast of Spain, the small resort town of Moraira is an oasis of traditional charm on the busy Costa Blanca, a favoured holiday spot and retirement haven. Moraira has grown from a small fishing village into an attractive resort surrounded by luxury villas without losing its Spanish character, which is entrenched in its impressive marina, variety of shops, colourful weekly markets, atmospheric old town, and its waterfront restaurants and bars. For those who enjoy a taste of the high life, it is also within easy reach by car or bus of the busier, glitzier Costa Blanca resorts of Javea, Calpe and bustling Benidorm. The countryside around the holiday destination of Moraira offers some lovely scenery dotted with unspoilt villages to explore. The relaxed traditional ambience of Moraira is accompanied by two main beaches with Blue Flag status, separated by a promontory crowned with a medieval fortress. There are also plenty of sport and leisure facilities on offer.
Shopping: There are no large supermarkets and shopping malls within the confines of the holiday resort of Moraira itself, but these can be found not far away in the approaches to the town and surrounding suburbs. In the main avenues of old Moraira, shoppers are well catered for with all manner of boutique stores selling local arts and crafts, souvenirs, holiday gear and bric-a-brac. The most fun to be had shopping, though, is at the Friday weekly market where the wares range from fresh fruit to leather goods, pottery and rugs. Good buys are wicker furniture, handbags and wrought iron objects. Serious shoppers can make expeditions to the larger resorts and towns nearby. The street market in Teulada, a few miles inland, is worth a visit.
