Home description

This is a smartly furnished, but very comfortable and welcoming ground-floor apartment, near the centre of Moraira Town, and very near to the Beach and the Marina with its myriad bars and restaurants. It has an American kitchen, good-sized sitting and dining areas, double bedroom and a 2nd bedroom that can be either double or twin. An easily operated Sofabed in the Sitting Room converts into a further double bed.

There is a good-sized pool on the roof terrace with larger than average shallow section and good views across to the sea and the Rock Ifach near Calpe and the surrounding mountains inland.

Just a couple of minutes walk will take you from the door of the apartment to the shop-lined streets of Moraira, where you can explore the old Town or the new, or just sit awhile at one of the bars. The streets lead to the marina, packed with beautiful boats and surrounded by restaurants, many selling fresh fish dishes of course. Another minute or two brings you to safe, sandy L'Ampolla Beach, bordered by trees, and with views across to the Rock Ifach at Calpe.

All this . . and a supermarket almost next door that is open every day until 2.00 a.m. so shopping's easy!

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

The Costa Blanca region of Spain has one of the best climates in the world, enjoying over 300 days of sunshine in an average year. The average yearly temperature is 18°C/64°F with temperatures mostly around 28°C/82°F in August and 16°C/61°F in February. Winter in this area is generally sunny and pleasant. There are a few days where the rain falls, helping to keep the countryside green and fertile, but there are also days where, despite the calendar, you may well be able to get those shorts out and even go for a swim.

Moraira itself has been described as the Millionaires' Playground, as evidenced by a quick look around the boats in the Marina, but there are plenty of other lovely places close by too. Javea with its beautiful, sandy, bar-bordered beach is 15 mins by car with pretty Calpe in the other direction, and Denia with its long, windswept beaches, is just a little North of Javea.

The wine-making area of Jalon Valley surrounded by spectacular mountains is about 20 mins away and perfect for walking, cycling and climbing or just for a long, lazy lunch in a friendly restaurant serving local food. Lively Benidorm, Terra Mitica Theme Park & Aqualandia are about 45 mins drive.

The beautiful 9-hole Moraira golf-course with poolside bar/restaurant and magical views down to the sea is open to non-members and is within a few minutes drive, with the popular 18-hole course at Jesus Pobre and the 9-hole course at Javea about 15 minutes away by car. Nearby are tennis courts, squash, water sports, boat hire and trips, horse-riding and go-kart racing.


Moraira / Central Moraira area

Green countryside dotted with individul white-washed villas, shady pine woods, citrus groves and vine terracing make a pretty and relaxing setting away from the package tour crowds.

Moraira is an attractive resort which retains its local charm. There are 2 safe, sandy beaches with beach-bars, and numerous little rocky coves up and down the coast. The town has grown from a small fishing village into an attractive holiday resort whilst managing to hold onto much of its authenticity . . . partly due to the busy local fish market with catches brough in fresh each day by the fishing fleet . . . if you like fish you will love Moraira!

There is an abundance of restaurants, bars and smart little shops which crowd around the harbour-side and popular marina, not to mention some very friendly Tapas Bars, and all of this is within just a few minutes walk from the apartment - so no need for a car if you prefer to take a taxi to/from the airport (which we can arrange for you) . . . although we would recommend one in order for you to take full advantage of the area.

THE HEART OF MORAIRA TOWN BEATS JUST AS QUICKLY ALL YEAR ROUND, SO ITS A LOVELY PLACE FOR AN OUT OF SEASON BREAK.


How to get there

Moraira is more or less equidistant from both Alicante and Valencia airports. The journey takes just over an hour, mostly along the AP-7 motorway (toll-road) which generally carries little traffic in this area. The usual low-cost airlines operate from both airports, although Murcia is also now well-used and is only about an hour and a half away using the same road.

Car-hire is easily and efficiently arranged at all of these airports, and we can make recommendations to you at the time of booking. However, car rental is not necessary at this apartment since it is so very near to everything you could possibly need during your holiday. We also have details of a good taxi service, and will be glad to help you with this.

The apartment has an American kitchen, good-sized sitting and dining areas, double bedroom with built-in wardrobe and a second bedroom with a bed which can either be made up as a single, double or linked twins. This room too has a built-in wardrobe. Half-glazed double doors lead from sunny Living Area into Bedroom 2, which stays cooler in hot weather (and is also very secure) since it has no outside wall.

In the living area is a comfortable, sturdy and very easily operated sofabed which contains ample storage space to keep its bedding out of the way during the day. There is also plenty of hanging, drawer and shelf space to cater for 6 people if required, and more than enough seating, crockery and cutlery to go round.

The air-conditioning unit can also be used for heating during cooler weather and, for shade in Summer, there are awnings on the terrace and roll-down blinds on the windows, together with mosquito netting. The window blinds also give added security, and there is a telephone operated system which is connected to the main door of the block so that callers can be screened.

Further details outdoors:
There is a long, but slender terrace accessed by both bedroom and living room, and from here you can sit in the cool of the evening - either watching the world go by on its way into Moraira or looking across to the villa-dotted hills in the near-distance.

The shared pool (with unusually large shallow section) is on the roof terrace, and is generally open May - September. It has great views across to the sea and the Rock Ifach near Calpe and the surrounding mountains inland. There are shady trees in the gardens to the front of the apartments, and there is a small fun-fair within walking distance specifically aimed at younger children.

We have an allocated space in the secure parking area beneath the apartments, which will keep your car cool during the summer months, and there is pedestrian access from there to the foyer. Wheelchair access has recently been completed both through the main entrance to the apartment block and via the lift from the carpark directly into the foyer. The pool area is likewise accessible via the lift. This apartment is therefore probably suitable for those with impaired mobility, but please let us know if you need further information on that as it may not work for someone completely wheelchair-bound.

Changeover day is usually Saturday, but we try to be flexible on this outside High Season.

Special rates are negotiable for longer than normal lets, and Winter rentals can be negotiated according to individual requirements.
