Villa Ra is set on the side of a valley with lovely sea and hill views in the quiet and exclusive San Jaime area of Moraira, 5 mins walk from the beautiful Club de Golf Ifach with its tennis courts, bar/restaurant and breath-taking sea views (open to non-members).
The secluded pool (1m shallow end) with paved terrace is completely private and is not overlooked at all. It is particularly magical at night with pretty poolside and terrace lighting.
There is plenty of living space inside, and outside there is extensive pool terracing with all-day sun or a shady area with built-in barbecue and steps down to an orchard garden. A supermarket is close by and there are a couple of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Moraira Town is about 5 mins away by car. The wine-making area of Jalon Valley surrounded by spectacular mountains is about 20 mins away and lively Benidorm, Terra Mitica Theme Park & Aqualandia are all about 45 mins drive.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
The Costa Blanca region of Spain has one of the best climates in the world, enjoying over 300 days of sunshine in an average year. The average yearly temperature is 18°C/64°F with temperatures mostly around 28°C/82°F in August and 16°C/61°F in February. Swimming in the pool in December and January is definitely not unheard of . . as some of our guests will testify!
Moraira itself has been described as the Millionaires' Playground, as evidenced by a quick look around the boats in the Marina, but there are plenty of other lovely places close by too. Javea with its beautiful, sandy, bar-bordered beach is 15 mins by car with pretty Calpe in the other direction, and Denia with its long, windswept beaches, is just a little North of Javea.
The wine-making area of Jalon Valley surrounded by spectacular mountains is about 20 mins away and perfect for walking, cycling and climbing or just for a long, lazy lunch in a friendly restaurant serving local food. Lively Benidorm, Terra Mitica Theme Park & Aqualandia are about 45 mins drive.
Moraira / San Jaime area
Green countryside dotted with individul white-washed villas, shady pine woods, citrus groves and vine terracing make a pretty and relaxing setting away from the package tour crowds.
Moraira is an attractive resort which retains its local charm. There are 2 safe, sandy beaches with beach-bars, and numerous little rocky coves up and down the coast. The town has grown from a small fishing village into an attractive holiday resort whilst managing to hold onto much of its authenticity . . . partly due to the busy local fish market with catches brough in fresh each day by the fishing fleet . . . if you like fish you will love Moraira! There is an abundance of restaurants, bars and smart little shops which crowd around the harbour and popular marina and then meander on down the coast road.
San Jaime is right on the borders of Moraira, and a little outside Town - but only a couple of minutes - and, whilst benefiting from a peaceful location, it also has the best Supermarket in the area at its junction with the Moraira/Calpe Coast road. You can buy anything you could possibly want . . and decide whether to buy ready-prepared foods from the extensive Delicatessen section with nothing more to do but put it on the table . . or choose from the fresh meats and fish, some of which may already have been marinaded ready for the barbecue. Oh, and watch out for the Cake Counter if you're counting calories - you'll have trouble getting past that!
How to get there
Moraira is more or less equidistant from both Alicante and Valencia airports. The journey takes just over an hour, mostly along the AP-7 motorway (toll-road) which generally carries little traffic in this area. The usual low-cost airlines operate from both airports, although Murcia is also now well-used and is only about an hour and a half away using the same road.
Car-hire is easily and efficiently arranged at all of these airports, and we can make recommendations to you at the time of booking. We also have details of a good taxi service, but car-hire is recommended with this villa.

Further details indoors: There is an open-plan living area with American Kitchen, Dining Hall, large glazed Naya or Sunroom (with CD Player and over 60 CD albums) and a Sitting Room with a safe for valuables, English Sky TV and DVD Player (with over 50 DVD titles for your enjoyment). Two sets of doors lead directly from the Naya onto both the Pool Terrace and the Dining Patio, and there are further double doors onto the Patio from the Sitting Room. With all doors open the villa benefits from cooling hillside breezes and, whilst bedrooms and shower room have mosquito netting, Villa Ra doesn't have much trouble with these nuisances.
All rooms have either ceiling, wall-mounted or free-standing fans.
A comfortable and easily-operated sofabed has its own linen compartment, making it simple to convert each day, or alternatively, the Sitting Room can effectively become Bedroom 4 if required, with plenty of living space still remaining.
Also on the ground floor is bedroom 3 with its own shower room. Although this bedroom has full-sized beds it is fairly small and so might be more suited to children. Upstairs there are two further bedrooms and a newly furnished bathroom. The master bedroom has a large balcony (and outdoor furniture) with those superb views over the sea, hills and pool terrace.
This is a walled villa with entry-phone system and burglar bars to most rooms.
Central heating is available should you book a holiday during the cooler months, and this is normally included in the rental. There is a separate Utility Room with laundry facilities.
Further details outdoors: The sun shines all day onto the pool area, and it is still there for sundowners in the early evening! However, if you're looking for shade, you will find it in the barbecue area or down in the orchard garden . . and the house is shaded by electrically operated awnings too.
Whilst we have an indoor dining area it isn't wanted much in warmer weather, so we provide two large tables and plenty of chairs for dining outside, together with several sun loungers and parasols. Sitting under a sunshade having drinks by the pool overlooking the valley feels like being in a Martini ad . . and you can pick your own lemons for those drinks straight from the lemon trees!
We have a carport with a securely locking door and there is plenty of space for parking in the quiet road outside the walls of the villa. There is an entry-phone system for added security but we should mention that there are a few steps from the garden door down into the pool area, which probably makes the villa unsuitable for those with any infirmity or mobility problem.
We are very careful to keep our pool in tip-top condition and, to this end, we do ask guests to use the poolside shower to wash away suncreams before swimming.
Villa Ra has many different sitting and living areas, both inside and outside, affording space and privacy for larger parties and just a change of scene for smaller ones.

Changeover day is usually Saturday, but we try to be flexible on this outside High Season.
Special rates are negotiable for longer than normal lets, and Winter rentals can be negotiated according to individual requirements.
N.B. If you want a fortnight but we only have a week available, consider booking Villa Ra for 1 week and another villa for the 2nd week. This can make for an interesting holiday and changeover can be very easy.

Pets will be considered on an individual basis - acceptance cannot be relied upon without prior approval, but we will do our best to help!
As mentioned elsewhere, this villa is not really suitable for anyone unable to cope easily with the few steps from street to pool level.

Please add £12 per person per week to the prices shown above in respect of laundry & services, plus a single cleaning charge of £50 per holiday (NOT per person). We find this the fairest way of charging in order to take account of both large and small parties.
Our prices include reasonable use of utilities and all linen excluding beach towels. If it would help save space in your cases we can provide beach towels at a small additional charge of £2 per person per holiday which merely covers the Laundry's charge to us.
A Shopping Pack can be provided at an extra cost of £25 by our Local (English) Agents if you wish, and they will be happy to help you with any queries you may have during your holiday.
Payment can either be in Sterling or Euros . . by cheque or electronic transfer.
A 25% deposit is required to secure a reservation, with the balance due 8 weeks prior to your holiday.
A refundable Security Deposit of £150 is taken, but is paid in as late as possible and returned as soon as possible if all is well.
Special rates negotiable for longer than normal lets, and Winter rentals can be negotiated according to individual requirements, but are usually in the region of £1000 per month.
