Home description
Lagarto is south facing with full sun all day. Our two bedroom self-catering accommodation with a large private pool, is situated on the ground floor of our detached villa. The first floor is not occupied by the owners during lets, so that guests have the place to themselves. Lagarto is just a couple of minutes by car from the stunning El Portet beach and harbour. Moraira's beaches are sandy, especially suited for families, with blue flag, lifeguards and a childs play area.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
The larger towns of Javea, Denia, Calpe and Altea are all within a short drive, with many secluded coves and sandy beaches between. The interesting old town of Denia with its castle, lively port area, and home to some stylish shops is worth a visit.
A trip to the beautiful Jalon valley makes for a wonderful day out with some stunning mountain drives and spectacular scenery. Font Algar is a series of waterfalls and rock pools, an ideal place for a leisurely day to swim and picnic. There are some lovely old towns and villages to explore with Altea and Guadalest being two of the most popular.
For a great day out and those seeking more lively activities, visit the boisterous Benidorm. Attractions such as Mundomar a sea life park, Aqualand a large water park and Terra Mitica a theme park have great child appeal, whilst Valencia and Alicante are just an hour away offering great shopping and culture.
The climate here is superb and rated very highly by the World Health Organization to having a "near-perfect climate", helped by the average annual temperature of 20°C. making it ideal for all year round holidays. This country produces spectacular landscapes with rolling valleys and mountains almost wherever you go and the evening sunsets, particularly in the winter, can be absolutely stunning.
Moraira area
Moraira once a small fishing village and now a sophisticated holiday resort with a modern Marina, has wide sandy beaches and relaxing palm tree-lined boulevards. There are several supermarkets, banks, a good selection of shops, numerous restaurants, boutiques, pavement cafes, and not a fast food chain in sight. Friday mornings Moraira has a very popular market, where there is fresh fruit, vegetables, clothes and all maner of other interesting goods on sale.
This region of Spain is famous for its colourful festivals, and markets. One of the best is the Moors and Christians fiesta in the second week of June a spectacular event put on by the town locals, that is something to be enjoyed by all age groups. Moraira is one of those towns that people, including the local inhabitants, just love to stroll round and take in its life at any hour of the day.
How to get there
Moraira is approximately just over an hours drive from either Alicante or Valencia airports, all served by low cost airlines such as Ryanair, Easyjet, Thomsonfly, Jet2, Bmibaby and Monarch etc; from the UK. The route to Moraira is mostly via the A7 toll road and the N332 freeway. To fully appreciate the area we recommend you hire a car. Further details indoors: There are two bedrooms, which sleep up to four people. One bedroom has twin beds, the other a double. They all have built in wardrobes and usual bedroom furniture. Both bedrooms are double glazed and have black out security blinds at the windows.
The bathroom is fully tiled, with a bath, shower, wash basin with vanity unit and WC.
The kitchen, diner is well equipped with crockery, cutlery and utensils for four people. The kitchen has modern fitted units with usual kitchen appliances, electric cooker hob, microwave oven, fridge freezer, electric kettle and toaster etc.
The large lounge is equipped with LCD TV, DVD, CD and radio, Sky satellite, BBC, ITV, etc; new leather sofas, together with traditional Spanish furniture. The lounge has views to the front patio, pool and terrace.
The utility room has a granite worktop, utility sink, cupboards together with a washing machine.
There is a naya [a covered porch] with table and chairs, where you can dine outside in the shade, for those hot summer days.
Further details outdoors: There is parking in the drive or the quiet cul-de-sac outside. Both the drive and entrance to the garden have lockable gates for extra security.
The gardens are landscaped with lemon, palm trees and various tropical shrubs. There is a large 10m x 5m kidney shaped pool, for your exclusive use, with automatic under water lights, where you can enjoy swimming under the stars at night. The large patio area has sun loungers provided, together with outdoor garden furniture and a full size stone built BBQ.
Further details
We have a helpful English couple living nearby who look after our Villa, available for any queries you might have. Included in the price, the pool is maintained weekly and the villa is cleaned for your arrival. Bed linen and house towels are included in the price, changed on a weekly basis. Please bring your own beach towels.

Preferred changeover day is Thursday for 2009 but we try to be flexible where ever possible. Take advantage of cheap mid-week flights. Most villas have changeover days at weekends but make big savings on your air fares with us if you go midweek.
