It is situated in an elevated and peaceful location in the hills above El Portet, yet only minutes from 3 superb beaches, the up-market seaside town of Moraira, and a huge choice of local restaurants and bars, plus shops, supermarkets & banks close by.
There is plenty to see and do in the local area and beyond for adults and children alike.
The property has a larger than average pool (approx. 10m x 5m) which benefits from the sun all day long, and is surrounded by extensive terracing and attractive landscaped gardens - perfect for al-fresco dining and relaxing whilst enjoying the superb views.
The master bedroom has hot/cold air-conditioning, plus a luxury en-suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower plus a full size bath with shower over.
There is also a separate barbecue/dining area (with a brick-built BBQ & built-in table), and an additional area away from the pool for children to play and let off steam without disturbing the adults!
Outside lighting provides a superb ambience for those balmy evenings relaxing over drinks and a poolside meal.

The entire property is well maintained, and tastefully decorated and furnished.

This opens onto a ENCLOSED COVERED TERRACE right by the pool, with dining table & chairs (seats 6). The glass doors can be opened up completely to let in the sun and cooling breezes.
KITCHEN: Recently re-furbished - a superb kitchen with integrated appliances, and everything you need for complete self-catering, including a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, and coffee machine.

The living/dining room and terrace opens directly onto the pool area, and there are superb views over green and lush countryside down the valley to the sea.
The pool has Roman steps at the shallow end for easy access. Around the pool are 6 sun loungers (with padded mattresses), a large parasol for shade, and an outside shower for when you need to cool off.
The separate barbecue area has a brick-built charcoal BBQ, a built-in table, and there is plenty of additional space for children to play away from the pool area.
Outside lighting provides a romantic setting for enjoying the gardens and pool area after darkness falls.

PLACES TO VISIT:
BENIDORM: (approx. 45 mins drive): Major tourist resort, very commercial, lots of shops, the best beaches in Europe, and unrivaled nightlife. TERRA MITICA THEME PARK, TERRA NATURA WILDLIFE PARK, AQUALANDIA WATER PARK, & MUNDOMAR (dolphin & sea lion shows) are all located here. Great fun for all ages! Also BENIDORM PALACE for a good meal, flamenco cabaret, & dancing.
CALPE (25 mins drive): Rock of Ifach - a bird/wildlife sanctuary - & Las Salinas Salt Lakes - where pink flamingos congregate. There is also an interesting port area that has some fantastic fish restaurants.
ALTEA (30 mins drive): A coastal town with its own fishing fleet & dating back to 1562. Old town is very quaint & has many good restaurants.
VALENCIA (1 hour's drive north): Spain's 3rd largest city & thought to be more than 2000 years old, and a former Moorish capital. Sights include the Cathedral, the Silk Exchange, Ceramic Museum, & numerous art galleries. Sophisticated shops & magnificent covered food market. Don't miss the futuristic Science & Arts Museum.
JALON VALLEY (30 mins drive inland): Fabulous scenery & unspoiled Spanish villages. Here you can see how rural life in Spain has remained unchanged for centuries. Famed for its wine production. From the vantage point of Coll de Rates, it's possible to see the whole valley and, on a clear day, the island of Ibiza.
GUADALEST: A mountain village 25kms inland from Benidorm - the 2nd most photographed place in Spain! The views from here are stunning. Built by the Moors to defend themselves from invasion, it is entered by going through a hole in the cliff face.
FONTS D'ALGAR: Situated on the way back from Guadalest - cascading waterfalls & fresh water pools where you can have a welcome swim after a hot day!
AMENITIES: There are banks and 3 supermarkets within 5 mins. drive, and a huge choice of restaurants offering all kinds of international cuisine to suit all tastes and budgets. There are also many rural restaurants to try within easy distance offering set menus at low prices.
NEARBY BEACHES: The villa is a few minutes drive from the beaches at Moraira (wide, sandy beach), and El Portet (a sandy, picturesque bay with wonderful views). Both of these beaches are suitable for children. The beach at Cumbre del Sol, which is secluded & virtually undeveloped, is also a few minutes drive. They all have toilets & restaurant facilities. Javea is 15 mins drive, has large, sandy beaches & a huge choice of restaurants. In addition, there are many unspoiled coves and viewpoints to discover within easy driving distance.
ACTIVITIES: There are an abundance of activities available locally including water sports, boat trips, golf, tennis, cycle hire, horse riding, fishing, and go-karting.
GOLF: Javea Golf Club is just a few minutes drive, and there are also golf courses between Moraira and Calpe (10 mins drive) and Denia (20 mins drive).
LOCAL PLACES TO VISIT: MORAIRA (10 mins drive): Formerly a small fishing village - now an up-market town retaining a village atmosphere. Beautiful beach, excellent selection of bars & restaurants, & lively shopping area, including a market on Friday mornings. On summer evenings, a small craft market is held in the town, and there is often live music in the main square - lovely to listen to whilst you are eating al-fresco at one of the restaurants that surround the square. In mid-June, the town stages its annual "Moors & Christians" fiesta which is spectacular. It includes a "battle" around the castle, and culminates in a grand parade with fantastic costumes and floats. Not to be missed!
JAVEA (15 mins drive): A fascinating mix of old & new. The town is split into 3 areas: The Arenal - which has a huge, crescent-shaped sandy beach, and many restaurants & late-night bars along the promenade, the sophisticated Port area with its sea-front restaurants, and the un-spoilt Old Town which is great fun to explore.
BENITACHELL & TEULADA (both 10 mins drive): Small, typical Spanish villages with narrow streets full of pretty houses. Both hold street markets on Wednesday mornings - great for fresh produce at very good prices. These villages are totally "untouristy" and the ideal place for mixing with the locals in their many cafes and bars.
DENIA (25 mins drive): Historic major town, a castle proudly surveying the port, and good beaches. You can drive to Denia over the Montgo (Sleeping Elephant) mountain, which is a national park.

"Delightful villa in quiet residential area with sea views"
If you are looking for a villa with pool and light airy rooms with a sea view and very close to shops, the sea and an excellent beach like we were, the villa fitted all our criteria for a week away. A safe place to bring children as the pool is overlooking the conservatory. The pool is a good size if you like swimming.
The kitchen is new and because we love cooking it had everyrthing we needed and more! The ensuite bathroom is also new and the shower was great.
We would recommend eating at la bona taula on the road going out of Moraira towards Calpe, excellent views and fantastic food well worth the money for a special treat.

"Lovely relaxing location"
Really enjoyed our stay, everything you could need in a really good location. Peaceful area, very little traffic, well equipped villa with comfortable beds. New kitchen, good wifi and tv, nice area, beautiful views. Nice pool too!

"A Perfect Autumn Break"
We arrived just as the new kitchen had been completed - fully equipped with everything you could need - just like home. Not a speck of builders' dust anywhere! Enjoyed perfect weather and everything very comfortable - good beds and good showers - these, high on our list of priorities! Loved the views and swimming pool. So convenient for the shops but you do need a car. Very impressed with size of garden/land around the house - plenty of room for children to play. Enjoyed outside eating every day. The glassed-in sun room was a bonus when it got a little chilly in the evening - perfect outside/inside dining. In a quiet residential area. Neighbours not a problem while we were there. Felt a very safe area. Would certainly go again.

"Wonderful Holiday - Will rebook for 2013"
We have just returned from a great holiday in Bahia Vista, which is a spacious single story villa situated on the side of a mountain in the tranquil Portet Valley. It is comfortable and well equipped with all mod cons including a larger than average kitchen. Big bonus was the Wi Fi and English TV. The sea view down the valley from the south facing terrace & kitchen window is spectacular. The pool is rectangular & straight in front of terrace. There is a purpose built BBQ with a permanent table close by on the substantial lower terrace.
The villa has its own off road parking for about 4 cars. There are a couple of supermarkets close by (5 mins in the car).
Moraira itself is very chic with lots of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and budgets. It also has two nice beaches.
There is a lovely secluded beach at Portet with 2 bars on the front. Couple of car parks beside, but they fill up early as the beach is very popular. It takes 5 minutes to drive down from the villa.
All in all great holiday will definitely rebook for next year.

"Nice villa, lovely pool, good location but...."
Great instructions meant the villa was really easy to find from the airport. On arrival we were dissapointed though as the road is very close to the property as are the neighbours. However, the pool is lovely and the view down the valley to the sea is very nice.
The fact that the villa is on a hill, means that there is a lovely breeze and luckily next door was unoccuppied so there was little disturbance. The road is not busy, but due to proximity, you notice every vehicle that passes.
The villa itself is laid out nicely and the bed is comfortable. The newly fitted ensuite is lovely but the toilet was a bit rocky! The kitchen is well equipped, but no basics in the cupboard (not even condiments). Not a problem though as the supermarket is close by, although a car is essential due ot the steep hill.
No need to pack any books, there was a great selection of novels. I think there were cds too, but we didn't need to use as had bought our own music. WIFI excellent and Sat TV worked a treat. The welcome pack ordered was very poor value, but as we arrived on a Sunday it was necessary.
The property could do with a good clean, as although the bathroom was fine, the villa was very dusty and the wardrobe rails in particular were mucky. There was a broom but it was filthy and the mop not much better. I would recommend that the owner provides a hoover. The iron and ironing board provided were great and the washing machine worked well. There was no washing line though, only an airer which you might need to leave in the Naya so it doesn't blow over.
The advert said 6 loungers but only 4 and despite the photos, there were no cushions for them so they weren't very comfortable. The outside lighting is not adequate and so we didn't use the BBQ. The advert also suggested that seating in the BBQ are is provided, but it is not. There was an umbrella for the loungers, but the umbrella stand had seen better days.
Overall, I think the villa is expensive compared to others I have used that were of a higher standard. The area is lovely though and El Portet is really nice.
On behalf of myself (the Booking Agent), the owners, and the housekeeping team, we feel that some of the points raised in the above review are unfair or misleading and need to be put into perspective.
The villa is situated on a good-sized plot on an extremely quiet residential side road. I doubt that more than 2 cars an hour pass along this road, even in peak season. There are no properties to the rear of the villa, only the rooftop of the neighbouring property on one side is visible, and the property on the other side does not overlook the villa or the pool area. The villa is not advertised (or priced) as being situated in vast grounds nowhere near a road, or isolated, so I fail to see how they could have possibly been disappointed by its location.
I have never had any complaints whatsoever about the cleanliness/maintenance of the villa – in fact, just the opposite. All rental clients are supplied with the phone number of the housekeeping team and are positively encouraged to contact them if they encounter any problems. Had they done so, any issues they reported would have been put right immediately.
When the clients first enquired about a Welcome Pack, a list detailing every item it contained was sent to them along with the price. If they considered it to be “poor value”, then I fail to understand why they ordered it in the first place, especially as there is a supermarket within 10 mins drive which is open 24/7.
This party consisted of only 2 people. 4 of the 6 sun loungers were placed by the pool for their use, so I am left wondering why they were worried about the location of the other two! Cushions for the sun loungers are not listed anywhere in the description as being provided due to the fact that they are impossible to keep clean. Our other guests have all used beach towels on the sun loungers with no complaints.
The outside lighting is more than adequate (and includes a wall light right beside the BBQ as can be seen in one of the photos) and this would not have been needed until 21.30 anyway. There is a built-in table by the BBQ and a full set of plastic and wicker chairs (located no more than a few yards away) which could have been placed around this table without any effort.
With regard to price, this villa is extremely good value for money, as a quick price comparison with other similar villas in the area will confirm. It´s in immaculate condition throughout, and both bathrooms and the kitchen have been re-furbished to a very high standard.
To conclude, the description of the location and the facilities available at this villa are entirely accurate, and we work very hard to provide our rental clients with an outstanding holiday experience. I am disappointed that these particular clients have felt it necessary to make negative comments. Some are clearly unjustified, but the cleanliness/maintenance issues (even though they were minor) should have been reported at the time, not complained about afterwards.
