"home from home"
The owners have thought of everything to make this a perfect place to return to after exploring miles and miles of the wonderful Peaks. The accomodation was of a really high standard- confortable and homely and it far exceeded expectations of what would normally be found in a holiday let. We had prepared a list of walks to do- but need not have bothered as there was lots of books and maps at the cottage. The local pub was amazing too!
Thankyou for your comments about our cottage. We take pride in presenting it to our guests in the best possible way, for their comfort and enjoyment.

"A lovely cottage"
We recently spent a week in Avonlea cottage. It is a wonderful spot to explore the Peak district - either on foot or in a car - or both. There are many trails starting near Monyash, the village where Avonlea is located. The cottage was cozy and welcoming. We loved coming home each evening to the comfort it provided. The kitchen is very well equiped, with a lovely garden view. The bedroom had lots of storage and the bed was very comfortable. People in the area were friendly and the local pub has great food if you don't feel like cooking.
We are pleased you found Avonlea central for exploring the peak district and that it was cosy, welcoming and comfortable each day, on your return.

"Perfect cottage for holiday in Peak District"
We, age 70, spent one week in May 2012 in lovely Avonlea Cottage. This is the perfect place to stay if you like to take a rural walk in the morning and then set out for adventures of the day. Since the nice village of Monyashis situated in the centre of Peak District you reach places like Chatsworth Castle and Haddon Hall as well as many pleasant and/or challenging walks and villages within less than one hours driving.
The cottage itself is very well equipped and is well suited for self-catering if you don´t want to visit the famous pub Bulls Head every day.
Thankyou for such a lovely review of Avonlea Cottage. We are pleased you had an enjoyable stay and that our cottage with its cosy peaceful and relaxing atmoshpere and excellent facilities lived up to your expections. Hope you will come back soon.
