Its boasts stylish shopping galleries, acres of fine golden sand slope gently into the sea, providing safe swimming and other beach sports. Tennis, yachting, golf and horse riding through pine forest are also available. A racecourse and casino also add to the range of attractions. There are a multitude of excellent restaurants and bars plus a busy Saturday morning market.

The charming walled town of Montreuil with its cobbled streets, flower displays, beautiful old houses and churches, not to mention a good selection of bars & restaurants is only 15 minuets drive. Montreuil’s imposing ramparts have wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and is where Victor Hugo was inspired to write "Les Misérables", about the turbulent years of the Napoleonic Empire and the 1830 revolution. At the end of July and beginning of August a "Les Misérables" sound and light show draws thousands of visitors. We stayed at the cottage near Beussent over Christmas with our two grown-up children and granddad who had never holidayed outside the UK before! We were all looking forward to spending a family holiday together, which we hadn't done for quite a few years, and even though I was looking forward to it so much, it exceeded my expectations. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The cottage itself is gorgeous; there is a lovely farmhouse kitchen that is so well equipped, even for organising Christmas dinner. The bedrooms are cosy downstairs, and so quaint upstairs, with a lovely play area for children (used also by our 20 and 23 year olds!) The lounge with its wonderful log burner was perfect - an idyllic way to spend a family Christmas playing games and having the odd glass or two! We have holidayed numerous times over the years in France, but usually the South or South West, so didn't know this area at all. It is so accessible from the tunnel and yet feels as though you are in the middle of France. It is tranquil and beautiful and I can't wait to go back to experience spring or summer here. Sonya and John, the property owners were on site over the Christmas period and could not do enough for us, even decorating the house for the festive period. To sum up we had the best Christmas we have had in years and can't wait to return. Thank you from all of us. |

It speaks volumes that we spent our third consecutive family holiday at this beautiful cottage in a fabulous country location. The property is just perfect, spacious, well equiped and spotlessly clean. It is also full of character with a wood burning stove in the living area, which thanks to lots of sunny days, we didn't have to use. The lovely courtyard was ideal for sunbathing and having the odd barbie or two. There is plenty of great golf courses nearby which made my husband very happy. He especially loved Le Touquet and Hardelot which he described as exceptional. There are lots of great eating places in the area and the local people are very friendly and helpfull. There are lovely places to shop in nearby towns, as well plenty of local markets. I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough and look forward to returning. |

I just wanted to take a few moments just to say thank you and say how much we enjoyed your cottage.
We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place. Log fire, massive kitchen. It was really cosy.
We would like to rent it out again in Feb/March for our birthdays (They’re close together) so will let you know soon so we can book it. But again, we’d both like to thank you.

We had a wonderful time. We went to Parc Bagatelle and had a wonderful day on the Tuesday. We loved to local boulangerie and got fresh products every morning for breakfast. We only visited the local Shoppi finding they stocked everything we needed. Had a fabulous meal at Auberge . Went to Azincourt, La Coupole, Le Touquet and St Claires beaches. We did visit the chocolate shop.... I did treat everyone - they are so yummy. We have already been singing your praises and would love to visit again. Will contact you when my children & grandchildren have saved up some pennies!!! Karen was most helpful when we needed a pharmacy one evening.
