Home description
This charming 3 bedroom gite is located in the Foret de la Double and looks down over the 1½ acre lake which is well stocked with carp and coarse fish. At an extra charge, it is also possible to include our 7 acre specimen lake with carp in excess of 40lbs with your booking. Bait and fishing equipment can be provided, if required. We are not aimed exclusively at fishing holidays - there are plenty of other things to do and see. Some people come to enjoy the lovely surroundings and take advantage of the peace and quiet and to have their own secluded holiday location. Artists, bird-watchers etc. also find it an ideal location to enjoy their hobby. There is also plenty of sight-seeing to be had in this Perigordian region as we are surrounded by vineyards, chateaux, historical towns etc.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region
There are lots of thing to do and see in the area and the coast is just over an hour and a half’s drive away. There is a large swimming lake that is ten minutes drive away which also has picnic areas, forest walks and some designated fishing areas. The Dordogne is a beautiful region of forests and rolling hills with some of the best vineyards in the world creating some of the finest wines.
Montpon area
Although off the beaten track, you are just five minutes drive from the local village which has a small shop and bakery, a post office, butchers and an excellent restaurant/bar. It takes about 10 minutes to drive to the larger town of Montpon which has a good range of traditional French shops, two supermarkets, bars, banks, as well as a bait & tackle shop, very good Market and tourist office etc.
How to get there
Cheap flights available from Ryan air, British Airways, FlyBe, BMI Baby to Bordeaux and Bergerac (both approximately 1 hours drive away). Car rental available at both airports. Train connections also possible to Montpon Railway Station.
