The Languedoc region of the South of France is blessed with over 300 days sunshine a year, with temperatures reaching about 30 degrees in the summer months, mid 20's in April, May, June, September and often October and normally around 15 degrees the rest of the year, barring December and January when temperatures drop slightly but the sky is always a glorious blue.

Montpellier area
Montpellier is the stunning capital of the beautiful Languedoc region of France.
Montpellier is well known as a centre of culture, with 2 opera houses only 400m apart. The opera house in Place de la Comedie is a sight to behold, both in summer and especially in winter, when it is beautifully illuminated for the Christmas markets. The Christmas market takes over the Place de la Comedie from early December. The Place de la Comedie is one of the largest pedestrian areas in Europe.
Just beside the apartment is the world famous St. Pierre Cathedral, with its stunning architecture, it was built in 1364 at the request of Pope Urbain V.
The Jardin des Plantes, a botanical garden, is an oasis in the middle of the city. A great place for a picnic or a stroll, and it is thought to be the oldest in France.
There are numerous music and theater festivals held throughout the year, with numerous international Fairs in the Parc des Expos, a horse show in November, as well as the beautiful Christmas market.
One of the best way to visit Montpellier is by means of a gastronomic tour sampling delicious Southern French cuisine as well as food from all over the world. Try some of the great wine bars within 2 minutes of the apartment, a great way to sample local and regional wines without too much effort...
