About the home

La Rue is a large family home with all amenities necessary for an extremely relaxing and tranquil holiday. The house is situated in a very rural setting, ideal for walking and cycling for all ages. Activities on site include table tennis, pool and use of the large swimming pool and sun terrace. Satellite television is also available.
Local activities include fishing, horse-riding and canoeing. There are a number of excellent French restaurants in the local area and many opportunities to see places of historic interest and local culture. The vinyards and distilleries of Cognac are a very short distance away. Also within easy driving distance is the city of Poitiers with its famous Futuroscope theme park. Beautiful beaches are within easy driving distance.

The interior accommodation includes a well-equipped kitchen with breakfast room attached. The large lounge contains a full sized pool table, bar and comfortable seating and dining area . Heating is provided by a wood burning fire and electric wall heaters. There is also a utility room, shower room and separate cloakroom on the ground floor.
On the first floor there are four bedrooms:
A double bedroom with en suite bath and shower.
A family suite consisting of two rooms, one with a double bed and the other with a double bed and set of bunk-beds, with en suite shower room/wc attached.

The house is set in its own large and private gardens and approached via a gated driveway. The modern sunken pool and terrace are immediately adjacent to the house and are not overlooked. The pool is also alarmed for safety reasons. The property overlooks a valley where deer and other wildlife can regularly be seen. There is a covered hangar adjacent to the house and pool that is ideal for relaxing in the shade. A full sized table-tennis table is also situated in the hangar. There is parking for several vehicles immediately in front of the house.

Conditions

A 10% deposit is payable on booking, the balance to be paid 14 days prior to arrival.
A £100 refundable deposit is payable with balance to cover 'breakages'

The Montjean / Banniere area

Banniere is set in the rural commune of Montjean, where you can find a bar/restaurant, a boulangerie and Post Office. The nearest towns are Ruffec, Sauze Vaussais and Villefagnan, with their larger shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. There are markets in each of the towns on various days. The area is ideal for safe walking and cycling in very tranquil surroundings.

Cheap flights are available to Poitiers, (40 mins), Limoges (1hr 20) and La Rochelle (1hr40) using RyanAir, Flybe and Easyjet. All airports have hire car facilities on site.
By road, Banniere is situated just ten minutes from the N10 main route from Northern France to Bordeaux and on to Spain.
The closest ferry port is St Malo (about 4 1/2 hours by car)
