Welcome to our three beautifully restored, traditional French cottages. In the very heart of the Dordogne, South West France.

Nestled on the side of a valley, all properties offer breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Set in 3 acres of land, at the end of a quiet country lane, there is no traffic and no noise, allowing you to enjoy the spectacular surroundings without distraction.

All three cottages have been restored to a very high standard, retaining their rustic charm while still offering you all the home comforts you will need for your stay. From the wide oak floors and original stone walls, to the beautifully renovated wooden worktops, each house has bags of charm and character that will make your stay with us truly special.

The largest of the three properties, Le Tournant has its own private full sized swimming pool with secluded sun terrace overlooking the valley. Sleeping up to 8 people, with 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a picturesque wisteria covered outdoor dining area seating up to16, Le Tournant is the perfect holiday home for large groups.

The house itself comprises a 70 square meter living area. The open plan kitchen boasts incredible views over the valley, with lovingly restored oak worktops, it is well equipped to provide you with everything you will need for your stay.

The dining area with a beautiful walnut dining table, comfortably seats 8 people. And for those winter evenings, snuggle up in the cozy sitting area in front of the original fireplace and open fire.

The second floor has 2 spacious double bedrooms and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. The third and top floor of the house has been designed with children in mind. Each of the 2 bedrooms has 2 single beds and a great play area, with plenty of room for the kids to have some fun away from the grownups.

The master bedroom is en suite, the family bathroom includes a double sink unit and a shower.

The house, while traditional in style, offers all the modern comforts with central heating throughout, fully equipped kitchen, TV, CD and WiFi.

But what makes Le Tournant really special are its views. Whether you are sitting by the pool, enjoying an evening meal on the wisteria covered terrace or simply waking up on a warm sunny morning, we guarantee the views really will take your breath away.

The Aquitaine/Dordogne region

The property is just 2 miles from the sleepy village of Thenon, where you will find a bakery, supermarket, post office and a bank as well as a variety of restaurants serving traditional local dishes.

But despite the quiet surroundings, we are ideally situated for all the main tourist sites. A short drive will take you to the famous medieval town of Sarlat, the caves at Les Eyzies and Montignac, walk the cobbled streets of the ancient Roman city of Perigueux or visit one of the many chateaux near Beynac and Domme. For the more adventurous, take a canoe trip down the beautiful River Vezere or enjoy the views from the skies in a hot air balloon.

And at the end of a long day site seeing, relax in what is quite possibly one of the most tranquil places on earth. Known as the land of 1000 chateaux and the birth place of modern man, the Dordogne is a truly magical place. We hope to see you soon.

"Just a week was too short"

We stayed with a group for a spiritual workshop on Chakra's, their healing power from a western-spiritual way of looking and experiencing.
The house, its environment, the silence and the privacy was a perfect bedding for this purpose...
We said to each other afterwards: "if only we could stay a week longer just to relax, enjoy the surroundings, swim, ride our bicycles, read, do nothing..." I'm sure it fits that purpose perfectly as well.

Yes, you are right. Le Tournant is a friend of everybody. And the combination of an intensive course and the cultural wealth the area offers, takes more as a week. If you wish I can provide you the cultural calender of next year as soon it is availabe.

"Fantastic house in perfect location"

This is the second year we have stayed at Maisonneuve and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The house is in a fantastic location - completed secluded, with breathtaking views and yet within close … More

It pleases me, you liked Le Tournant - the bigger sister of L'Hermite and Le Phénix- as well. I hope to offer you and your group again a home next year. Most welcome and au revoir!

"Restful, refreshing holiday location."

Wonderful property all you need is at hand. So quiet but within driving distance of some fantastic places....Sarlart is a wonderful day out. The views from the property are lovely and you can easily wonder where the day has gone by doing absolutely nothing!. The ages of our party ranged from 15 to 73 and we all loved this break....so much so we are booking again for next year.....the first time we have done this in twenty years of holidaying in France.

It is always a great pleasure to hear people were happy at Maisonneuve. Because this is what we try to reach. No need to say, you are most welcome next year.
