A large renovated very substantial and spacious village house in the old part of Montejaque(a village in the midst of the national park). 4 bedrooms, 1 family bathroom and an en suite shower room, large airy sitting room and dining room with French windows overlooking the valley.

Roof terrace with fabulous views (hence the name!); wood burner for those chilly winter evenings. communal pool in the village. Minutes walking distance from shops bars and restaurants,

The house is simply furnished in a traditional style.

The large private terrace has proved a hit with our guests, for BBQs, lazing in the sun or taking a quiet nap in the shade of the old olive tree. It is accessed from the house or via a door to the street behind the house.

There is also a lovely large communal pool nearby.

The Andalucia region

Malaga province enjoys a lovely climate and is a good mix of mountains and coast. the village of Montejaque is an old Moorish town and its roots are still very much evident.

Montejaque

Montejaque is one of the beautiful white villages of Andalucia. It is located 15kms from Ronda and lies in the Grazalema Natural Park. The village has a long history reaching back to the time of the conquest by the Moors. It is built on a rocky hillside above a valley of sunflower fields, olive groves and vineyards.

In this traditional Spanish village you will, like us, soon feel part of rural Andalucian life where it is so easy to relax and enjoy a peaceful time away from the pressures of modern life. As you walk to your house you follow steep, winding streets which thread their way between whitewashed cottages, whilst a few steps further on the edge of the village, sheep and goat bells can be heard as the animals meander about the surrounding hillside.

Moreover the 21st century has bought some changes so albeit you can not beat the traditional tapas there are several delightful restaurants, bars, shops even a fishmongers with incredibly cheap fresh fish.

"lovely house in a friendly mountain village"

Good access from the village of Ronda. A local representative of the house owner delivered the key and brought us to the house and the parking lot nearby.
The house is as described , nice and clean and located at the top of the Montejaque village. The greatest place of the house is the fairly large terasse with great vieuws over the village and the mountains. It is a fantastic place to start the day with a breakfast in the morning sun. Also a good and well equiped kitchen makes the self-catering a pleasure. Shopping "down-town" has to be taken literally in this mountain village and it is a sportive activity to bring all back to the top of the village. Good walking and hiking possibilities starting directly from the village e.g. on GR 7. We will return.
