Home description
Ancient farm hamlet situated in a splendid and panoramic hillside position, at the foot of the Chianti slopes that lead down towards the Arno valley. The recent and very attentive restoration work has given life back to the two groups that make up the hamlet: the one farther down in the valley is where you will find the reception, the swimming pool (25x12.5) (1/5-15/10) and the breakfast room; the one higher up also made up of different farmhouses along with the second swimming pool (6X12) (1/05-15/10).
The apartment has been well furnished and is equipped with all the modern comforts, among which a telephone (incoming calls only while the reception is open) and satellite TV.
A restaurant which is open every evening as well as on Sunday for lunch (lunch to be requested on weekdays, closed Monday) is at the guests' disposal. The restaurant serves typical Tuscan dishes which have been re-adapted to a modern style, using fresh, genuine ingredients and are enriched by the creativeness of the chef and a list of quality wines.

The Tuscany region
Enchanting cities rich in art and history, the woods, hills and fragrant vineyards. And then, of course, there is the sea. A history as the crib of the Renaissance and the birth place of men such as Dante, Leonardo and Michelangelo. An extremely enticing gastronomic tradition. An atmosphere that is so relaxing, it seems that time slows down acquiring a delightful intensity. Among the Italian regions, Tuscany is one of the most beloved.
Montegonzi area
Chianti is famous both for its scenery and for the fruits its land bears. The countryside is dotted with farmhouses and cottages which today are the holiday homes for an exclusive form of tourism in Tuscany. The beautiful Chianti hamlets often let you come face to face with fortified Medieval castles which bear witness to the ancient historical battles between Siena and Florence but Romanesque parish churches can be found on the gently rolling hills of this countryside too. From Greve travelling past acre after acre of vineyards and uncontaminated forests you will reach Radda in Chianti which was once the capital of the Chianti league as well as the watershed between the Pesa valley and that of the Arbia valley. The exquisite wine which is produced here, whose origins can be traced back to the Etruscan era, has indeed given this Italian region its prestige and international reputation.
The Chianti area is protected by two important consortiums: il Consorzio del Vino Chianti Classico (the Chianti Classico wine consortium) and il Consorzio del Gallo Nero (the black rooster consortium) the latter deriving its name from the historical Lega del Chianti (Chianti league) founded in the 13th century by the communities of Castellina, Radda and Gaiole. The hills clad in vineyards are particularly enchanting as are its oak, chestnut and holm-oak forests.
