The Tuscany region
The city of Lucca, situated in the heart of Tuscany, is considered one of the major tourist destinations of Italy. Located strategically between such popular "art cities" like Pisa, Siena and Florence, it also offers a possibility of quickly reaching the beaches of Versilia, as well as various mountain zones - like the one of Garfagnana.
Having chosen to go to Tuscany in order to spend here some peaceful relaxing moments, as well as to visit places of cultural importance, one simply cannot not visit the city of Lucca - and enjoy the magical atmosphere one can feel while walking in its historic centre, and admiring the imposing fortified walls surrounding the city.

"Perfect for families with small children and relaxing"
The house and garden with pool were absolutely wonderful. What an ideal for families that just want to relax by the pool. The house is quite far from everything so you do need a car. Good supermarket, Esselunga is anyhow in the village/ town. We recommend also the Cantina Toti on the way to the house.
Some pans and pots in the kitchen + some of the beds need updating.

"Perfect holiday home"
We had an amazing stay. The home was even better than the pictures and it was very spacious. Andrea and his family were so gracious. We had to take our son to the hospital and they drove us there, interpreted for us and even brought over a trike for the boys to play with. Andrea organised a cook to come over one evening and cook a four course authentic meal and it was very reasonably priced. We had a great holiday. Only thing to consider is the location of the house is hard to get to so it is best to coordinate with Andrea on your arrival so he can show you.

"Would highly recommend"
My wife, two children and I stayed for a week at Villa Moretti, during May 2013 and had a fantastic time.
You always have a slight concern; no matter how good the photos look, until you actually see the accommodation for yourself. I have to say we were not disappointed. The villa was spotlessly clean and the grounds are very well maintained, which must be quite a task, as they are extensive.
Having exchanged e-mails prior to the trip Andrea met us at the nearest intersection of the Florence –Pisa highway and led us to the villa. This was fairly essential as it's not the easiest place to find.
The large garden is great for kids and there were enough chairs and loungers for all of us to spread out. The weather was unusually cool for the time of year, so we didn't get much use of the pool. The pool automatically cleans itself through the filter system although Andrea did pop in on a couple of occasions to ensure it was clean for us. Pool towels for each of us had been provided.
The kitchen, although basic, has everything that is required. Gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge. There are plenty of plates, bowls, glasses cup etc.
The location was ideal, far enough away from any neighbours to feel totally private, but only 20 minutes from Lucca, 35 minutes from Pisa and just over an hour to Florence. A car is essential!
Andrea is the perfect host and was always available on the phone if and when we needed any help.
The nearest large supermarket is about 10 minutes away.
There are restaurants in hilltop village Monte Carlo, which we didn't actually get to try. However, we did have a meal at a nearby winery, Borgo La Torre, which was excellent. http://www.fattorialatorre.it/restaurant/?lang=en
Another nice morning and lunch was spent at the Buonmico winery http://www.buonamico.it/?lang=en
If you are looking at this Villa and thinking “it looks too good to be true” then you are in the same boat as I was when we came across it. All I can say is BOOK NOW, you really won't be disappointed.
