The Marche/Abruzzo region

The Marche, the only region of Italy with the name in the plural, to witness how different is its territory for traditions, customs and language. To understand this region, and Italy in general, suffice it to recall that the language spoken within the walls of any village, very often differs from that used by those who also lives just outside. By the year 1000 until about 1860 the Marche have been part of the Papal States and this has his huge artistic heritage preserved within the myriad of churches, abbeys and monasteries. Its location in Central Italy makes its winters are not too cold and his summers too hot, with small differences between the coast of the Adriatic Sea in the East and the West of Sibillini chain. Every city, every village deserves the interest of visitors. From the attic of Urbani Palace, in 30-40 minutes, are the towns of Ascoli Piceno, a Unesco World Heritage site, Fermo with its entire historical centre, Macerata with his international operatic seasons at the arena Sferisterio, Porto San Giorgio for those who love the sea, with its elegant sandy beach and fish restaurants on the waterfront, the Sibilliini Mountains National Park for those who prefer hiking in the mountains. The vast majority of bars, restaurants and shops are of excellent quality, some exclusive, as the historic Caffè Meletti in Ascoli Piceno or, in the field of clothing, footwear and accessories, of excellence (Tod 's, Prada, Hogan, Loriblu). A separate route deserve the wineries, wines of the Marche being second to none. The friendliness sincere and decent people of the Marche region will do the rest.

Monte San Martino

Monte San Martino occupies the summit of one of the many hills that characterize the landscape of the southern Marche. It 'a village of Roman origin with elegant and harmonious architecture. The sensitivity and culture of the nobility and the middle classes that have governed for centuries have meant that the churches are kept in the works of some of the most representative artists of the Renaissance Marche, including Carlo Crivelli and Vittore Crivelli. Today the village, even with its uniqueness, should be seen as a residential suburb of a larger territory. Are guaranteed essential services such as health care, pharmacy, a bank, the Post Office, a small supermarket, two bars, a good restaurant and a pizzeria, a tennis court and a swimming pool public. In just 10-15 minutes the guest reaches supermarkets, bars, pizzerias, restaurants, sports facilities and wellness centers and choose. Throughout the year, in every village of the district, shall be held at any angle and under whatever pretext, festivals, fairs and markets of all kinds. Finally, then a chance of relaxation interesting and uncommon. Monte San Martino is built on an outcrop of sedimentary rocks of the Jurassic period (200 million to 145 million years old), in parts of its territory is very easy to find, even in the open air, of fossil bivalves (clams) and gastropods (snails) and other shellfish. And 'possible, on request, arrange fields of research and study, especially for young people.
