About the home

The apartment is fully equipped and centrally located, ideally situated for guests who want to have easy access to the local amenities without the need of a car.
Monte Gordo is a beach resort which has something for everyone. Cars and bicycles can be rented locally, and there are several companies who offer excursions (4x4 jeep safaris) inland to the nature reserves and boat trips for fishing or up the Guadiana river to Alcoutim.
Close by - the town of Vila Real de Santo Antonio, with it's historic square and marina, has a daily fish, fruit and vegetable market and a regular ferry over the Guadiana River takes you to the charming Spanish border town of Ayamonte. Castro Marim, a medieval town with a its historic fort, castle and salt pans, which are still in production. Also close by there are several very good golf courses, with a course to suit everyone!

Situated less than a three minute walk to the beach and the Atlantic Ocean, on the third floor (top), with a lift, the apartment has an open plan kitchen/living room and is fully air-conditioned.
The kitchen area is fully fitted with modern units, oven, hob, extractor, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, dining table and four chairs.The lounge area has a double sofa bed, chair, TV, DVD ,air-conditioning and small balcony.
The bedroom is light and airy with a queen size bed, dressing table and stool, fitted wardrobe and air-conditioning.
The bathroom is fitted with a hydromassage bath with over-head shower, toilet, bidet and sink.
Separate from the the main apartment, there is a room in the loft with sofa bed, fitted wardrobes, toilet, sink, velux window and air-conditioning. Restricted headroom!

Sheets and towels are included, with a weekly change.

Conditions

Minimum Stay of 3 Nights. There is a booking deposit of 30%. The remainder must be paid by bank transfer 2 weeks before arrival or cash on arrival. There will be a security deposit of €200/300 cash, which will be refunded on your departure assuming no breakages or damage have been incurred.

Monte Gordo has a small fleet of fishing boats, it is interesting to watch the fishermen land their catch and repair their nets. Close by - the town of Vila Real de Santo Antonio, with it's historic square and marina, has a daily fish, fruit and vegetable market and a regular ferry over the Guadiana River takes you to the charming Spanish border town of Ayamonte. The Monte Gordo area

Several companies offer excursions (4x4 jeep safaris) inland to the nature reserves and boat trips for fishing or up the Guadiana river to Alcoutim.

Castro Marim holds a monthly market on the second Saturday of the month, as does Vila Nova de Cacela on the third Sunday.

The majority of budget airlines fly to Faro from the nearly all UK airports.

It is a 10/12 hour drive from the Spanish ferry ports of Santander and Bilbao, which sail from Portsmouth and Plymouth in the UK.

I can recommend the car hire firm Zitauto fro reliable, inexpensive rental cars.

“Ideal relaxing holiday break” Nice clean well equiped apartment, very centrally located for restaurants, shops and cafe bars. 5 minutes walk to the beach. Apatment owner very helpful.
