Amazing private sea in the Tuscan Archipelago !
Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
The apartment is located in a enclosed compound, surrounded by typical mediterranean vegetation, with a grounds keeper and supervised common swimming pool.
The location is exceptional, with private access to the rocky coastal shore, on a peninsula facing the Tuscan Archipelago, the largest marine park in the Mediterranean.
The whole area nearby offers important artistic and historical landmarks: 16th century Spanish observation towers and forts, Etruscan and Roman archeological sites .
Monte Argentario is a peninsula connected to the main land by "tomboli", thin sandy strips with roads which form the Orbetello lagoon which is a natural reserve and WWF oasis.
The lagoon is the most important of its kind in the Mediterranean and, thanks to the peculiar position along the migratory route, has a high concentration of thousands of birds of all types.
Porto Santo Stefano is the closest town, a worldwide tourist destination, at a distance of about 7 km from the apartment. From its port, which is an important shipyard specialized in the repair of all kinds of pleasure boats and craft, daily ferryboats reach the islands of the Archipelago. The town has shops, supermarkets, a hospital ( with a major facility in nearby Orbetello), pharmacies and a vast array of restaurants offering typical Tuscan cuisine and seafood.
Also nearby are Porto Ercole and Orbetello, important tourist centers and lively towns.
The location allows easy excursions like:
Natural Park of Maremma - 30 km
Saturnia SPA - 60 km
Rome - 150 km
Firenze - 200 km
Pisa - 200 km

The Tuscany region
Tuscany is known for its landscapes, wines, traditions, history, artistic legacy and its permanent influence on culture. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and has been home to many figures influential in the history of art and science.
Six Tuscan localities have been designated World Heritage Sites: the historic centre of Florence; the historical centre of Siena; the square of the Cathedral of Pisa; the historical centre of San Gimignano; the historical centre of Pienza; and the Val d'Orcia.
Tuscany has over 120 protected nature reserves, making Tuscany and its capital Florence popular tourist destinations that attract millions of tourists every year. Florence receives an average of 10 million tourists a year, making the city one of the most visited in the world.
Monte Argentario is a promontory stretching towards the Tyrrhenian Sea in correspondence of the two southernmost islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, Giglio and Giannutri. The promontory was an island in the past, but the sea currents and the Albegna river joined it with the mainland through two so-called tomboli (stretches of land), the Tombolo of Giannella and the Tombolo of the Feniglia.
The highest peak of Monte Argentario is the Punta Telegrafo (635 m). The landscape and the coast are mainly rocky, with numerous harbors, usually with rock beaches. The municipal seat is in the northern settlement, Porto Santo Stefano. The other main settlement in the township is Porto Ercole.
Thanks to its privileged geographic position and to its morphological richness in bays and creeks , Argentario promontory has always been a safe berthing for the ancient sailing people. It is quite likely that the Phoenician navigators settled down on the Southern coast.
Romans showed a great interest for Argentario and its vicinity for their closeness to Rome.
