The Midi-Pyrenees / Lot region

The Midi-Pyrenees area has a rich cultural gastronomic and historic tradition and offers an authentic French ambience. Cahors is the principle town of the Lot region, a centre for the wine growing area, with supermarkets and traditional cafes, restaurants, markets and a theatre.

Lalbenque, capital city of the black truffle, is 8km away. Nearby, picturesque villages offer a range of shops, restaurants, and bakers who sell locally made bread, viennoiserie and patisserie.

The bright gourmet kitchen is state of the art, has an American fridge and 2 dishwashers, and is fully equipped to satisfy the most inspired cook. Fully equipped laundry room. Pool shower room and 2 more cloakrooms. First Floor: The master bedroom has a dressing room, boudoir and en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi, shower and separate WC. This master suite enjoys wonderful views over the grounds and surrounding countryside. The five other double/twin bedrooms are each with spacious en-suite shower room, double washbasins and private WC, and offer a choice of 10 single or 5 double beds or a combination of both. One of these is on the ground floor of the North Wing.

Further details outdoors:
Chateau Bertigne stands at the end of a rural cul-de-sac, behind stone walls, in 5 acres of parkland containing a variety of mature trees including conifers, oak, poplar, fig, pomegranate and other fruit trees which is home to a wide variety of birds and wild life. The views from all main rooms in the house are to the south over parkland, open country, and hills. Despite the easy access to main roads, there is no road noise or nuisance at the house. There is no passing traffic. The unusual and attractive stone-pillared wagon shed can provide undercover parking for up to five cars or be used as a summer dining out area. Alternative car parking in the grounds.

Guestbook

'May we compliment you on the fabulous re-building and tasteful refurbishment of the manoir. As seasoned 'travellers', it sits with the best of the properties we have had the privilege to spend time in. We loved the region and travelled around most days. The restaurants, local, and far and wide were also excellent.' Richard H.
