Suitable for children, with steps and a gentle slope leading to diving depth, the pool has a sound ringing security alarm but is not fenced. 12 loungers with cushions and some sunshades for your comfort are arranged on a stone paved terrace around the pool.

Discover Midi-Pyrenees and particularly the Lot region ...
The scenic Causses du Quercy Blanc are an elevated limestone plateau with extended views over a rolling hilly and wooded landscape. The area enjoys a sunny, dry climate with mild spring and autumn weather yet relief from extreme summer heat, making it possible to live outdoors for a large part of the year.
The Quercy region is sparsely populated and is well-known for its picturesque medieval villages, many of which have shops, cafés, restaurants and traditional street markets. You will find much to delight you in the local delicacies, such as the rare black truffle and the goose and duck “foies gras” which can be enjoyed at a number of restaurants for all occasions within easy reach of the Manoir. The Lot is also well known for the “black wines” of Cahors. Most of the local chateaux and vineyards welcome visitors for guided tours and wine tasting.
We can help you organise a Gastronomic Discovery Programme to suit your taste.
The Montdoumerc area
The area around Manoir Les Gaillardoux is a lively centre of cultural and sports activities based around its rivers, pre-historic caves, gastronomy, vineyards, villages and history.
It boasts a rich architectural heritage and a wide range of cultural activities: spectacular cliff-top fortresses and historical remains; at Cahors, Pont Valentré, the magnificent medieval bridge, and the 11thC cathedral; the stunning 15thC Chateau de Cieurac near Lalbenque, and the medieval village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie to name but a few, all of which are less than a half hour drive from the Manoir. The limestone geology throughout Périgord and Quercy has resulted in series of caves with stunning pre-historical cave paintings which are open to the public.
With spectacular sculptured rocky landscapes, the wide river valley of the Lot and smaller rivers like the shallow Célé attract water sports lovers for boat hire, fishing, canoeing, swimming and picnicking. The area also provides opportunities for cycling, walking, caving and golf, as well as adrenaline-raising activities such as Go-karting, sightseeing flights, parachuting and gliding at the nearby Aerodrome of Lalbenque.

We spent a wonderful week in the Manoir which was spacious enough to accommodate our large group of 11. There was something for the older and younger members of our party. A splash in the pool or just a game of petanque on the gravel. The Manoir is tastefully restored and decorated. There are plenty activities to choose from. As the villa is close to Cahors, shopping trips are within reach. The Manoir is also close to some vineyards which are worth the visit; driving back to London with some extra wine cases proved to be more challenging than expected. We also enjoyed the picturesque villages in the area. Breakfast and dinner outside on the patio were a pure treat. Thank you again for making our stay memorable. U. family, UK (Summer 2012) Response: The pleasure is shared. Compliments from our discerning guests are always gratifying. Thank you for expressing yours so warmly. Holidays are often the stuff that dreams are made of. We aim to to help our guests make them a reality! |

The Manoir was the perfect place for our summer holiday. We were a group of 3 families with children ranging from 20 months to 8 years old. We loved the peaceful and picturesque location and it was lovely to allow the children to play and roam around the beautiful property. The views from the property are stunning and we enjoyed many meals outside on the patio just taking in the gorgeous countryside and slow sunsets. The Manoir itself is very spacious and comfortable. We all slept very well and also enjoyed cooking in the well provisioned kitchen. Our days were spent either exploring the surrounding area or in the pool. Some of us also went skydiving one day at the local aerodrome which was fantastic and so close by! I would definitely recommend the property and hope we get the chance to visit again. Response: From the Quercy Blanc to Bermuda with love: we are delighted you enjoyed our little corner of France and the comfort of our manoir, and we look forward to welcoming you and your delightful guests again! |
