About the home

Buon Riposo is shrouded in the magnificent scenery of the harmonious Tuscany countryside - in Florence area near Montaione and San Gimignano. Our farmhouse, a farm estate covering an area of approximately 100 hectares, blends into the harmonious scenery of the Tuscan countryside, where green hills slope down towards the horizon and woods alternate with vineyards and olive groves.

Guests can find comfort and amenities in a skilfully renovated self-contained apartment. The apartment has its own entrance and outside area equipped with a table, umbrella and garden chairs; inside they feature a fireplace. A free internet connection, a barbecue for outdoor dining and a handy swimming pool (15x8 metres) placed on a terrace overlooking the countryside complete Buon Riposo's relaxing atmosphere. The site itself is set on various levels, so secluded spaces can be found throughout. On the top level is the swimming pool and sunbathing deck. Here there is a wonderful view across the fields to the nearby village and beyond. Each apartment has its own style so there is no sense of " mass manufacturing" at Buon Riposo.

The house itself is comfortable and completely self-sufficient. Should you wish to stay indoors for days on end, this would be possible - but entirely unlikely to happen when you see the setting and the rustic beauty surrounding you.

The villa offers a delightful view- something to warm the heart when opening the bedroom shutters in the morning! The buildings are an image typical of Tuscany - we have the olive trees and vineyards you dream of, and you are free to wander as you please.

The tourist package price is determined by the rate indicated for the apartment during the chosen period.

Terms of payment
On booking, the deposit equals 30% of the total package amount.
The balance shall be paid 60 days before the arrival date.

Customers can cancel bookings notifying the Organisation. Customers cancelling bookings shall pay a deposit and a fine as follows:

- - 20% of the total value of their stay if cancellation occurs from 59 to 30 days before their arrival date

- - 50% of the total value of their stay if cancellation occurs from 39 to 15 days before their arrival date

- - 75% of the total value of their stay if cancellation occurs from 14 to 5 days before their arrival date

- 100% of the total value of their stay if cancellation occurs after such date

Conditions

Buon Riposo website offers an on-line booking system through which it is possible to check availability and book the desired weeks. In the event of payment of deposit (20%) by credit card, the Organiser, through safe transaction with the Toscana Bank SSL system, can withdraw the deposit on receipt of the telecommunications booking.

On booking, the deposit equals 20% of the total package amount. The balance shall be paid two months before the arrival date.

The Montaione / Collegalli area

Buon Riposo is in a central location close to all major sights in Tuscany at easy driving distance, it is a perfect base to explore the most interesting places of Tuscany, The house is situated in the countryside. Cars are recommended to travel. However, you can stay in Buon Riposo - swimming, relaxing or walking along woodland paths.

There are many restaurants at fixed rates nearby where local cuisine can be tasted. A good restaurant/pizzeria can also be reached on foot along a path in the little village of Corazzano.

Travelling through Tuscany means discovering hamlets, century-old castles and early Renaissance towns with their treasures, museums, palaces and some of the most breathtaking squares in the world.

Corazzano ( 500 metri): San Giovanni parish located on a nearby rise to the left, built-up during the 18th-19th centuries near the Frankish road, dates back to the 12th century.
Certaldo (km 15): a Medieval hamlet with Boccaccio's house and the town hall.
Castelfiorentino (km 10): the Picture Gallery, the church of St. Francis (12th century); S.Ippolito parish (10th century); the church of S. Verdiana (17th century).
S.Vivaldo (km. 15): Convent of S.Vivaldo (15th century); Roman cistern (1st century A.D.).
San Miniato (km 10): historic city whose attractions are S.Domenico in Piazza del Popolo (1330), its Cathedral and Barbarossa Tower where Pier delle Vigne committed suicide (1249).
Montespertoli (km 20): with Poppiano and Montegufoni castles nearby. It is worth visiting the close-by Medieval hamlet of Lucardo.
Empoli (km 25): Collegiate of S.Andrea (5th- 10th centuries); Collegiate Museum with 14th-16th century works of art.
Vinci (km 30): Museum and the house where Leonardo.
Cigoli (15 km): century-old castle formerly "Castrum de Ceulis" near which the church of Sant'Andrea a Bacoli, which figured in the 1149 Celestine stamp, was built.

By Car

Coming from the Italian Motor Way A1: exit at the Florence-Signa tollbooth and after a brief ring road join the (SGC) Florence-Pisa-Leghorn highway in the direction of Pisa-Leghorn.

Exit at San Miniato: continue for the centre of San Miniato (3 km) following Corazzano-Montaione indications. After approximately 10 km, having passed the hamlet of Corazzano, after 500 metres to your right you will find a yellow sign Az. Agr. Buonriposo . Take the country lane to the right, after 200 metres turn right and after a further 400 metres you will reach Buon Riposo.

Coming from the A12 motor way: for those coming from the south, exit at the Collesalvetti tollbooth and after a short ring road take the (SGC) Leghorn-Florence highway in the direction of Florence. For those coming from the north, exit at the Pisa-centre tollbooth joining, after a brief ring road, the (SGC) Pisa-Florence highway in the direction of Florence.

It is possible to go to the stations of San Miniato (14 km from Buon Riposo) or Empoli (24 km from Buon Riposo) and to reach Buon Riposo by taxi.

It is possible to go to the Castelfiorentino station (10 km from Buon Riposo) and reach Buon Riposo by taxi. From Castelfiorentino station, Florence and Siena can be easily reached in 40 minutes.

We spent 10 days at Buon Riposo, and stayed in the L'Edera apartment. We had a wonderful holiday, our children loved the swimming pool, playground and chess area and we found the apartment and the surrounds absolutely beautiful and relaxing. It was also a perfect base for exploring the surrounding towns.

Fantastic place had two brilliant weeks in August 2003 staying in il Gilcine apartment. The apartment was very clean on our arrival with some complimentary wine from its own vine yard. Swimming pool was a blessing as the temp was 47 one day. Owner spoke quite good English and can fully recommend this place. We hope to return some day.

I stayed here with my family, and loved it! It's a true working farm, where they make their own wine and olive oil. For your use, there is high speed internet, and also a swimming pool, which is nice to use during the hot Tuscan summer days. It's a perfect place for relaxing in the evening outside of the apartment, while looking at the countryside. There are paths to walk to the quaint village of Corazzano, or just a lovely stroll through the vineyard. One evening, we walked to the village and had a wonderful meal at La Taverna dell'Ozio, which I recommend! If you want more than a tranquil day, then the agriturismo is close and central enough to take in the sights at cities nearby, like San Gimignano, Siena, Florence, Pisa, and Volterra. The owners are very charming, and only want to help you have the best stay possible!
