About the home

Podere Setterfrati is a delightful farmhouse which dates back to the 17th Century. Together with Elisabetta I have been renting this warm and welcoming farmhouse for the past 20 years. It is spacious with most of its original features still preserved. White washed walls, exposed beams, terracotta floors and fireplaces take you back to a nostalgic and romantic past. Situated in the Chianti Hills, in a landscape rich with olive groves, vineyards and cypresses. Secluded from the main road, but not isolated only one mile from Mura a small hamlet with restaurants and supermarket .

Podere Settefrati consists of two floors, living area, lounge, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, 1 bedroom on the ground floor,3 further bedrooms on the first floor. Attached to the side is a large room with games,(ideal on a rainy day) a private garden and patio off the kitchen overlooking the countryside of vineyards and silvery olive groves. It is very well furnished inside and out for maximum comfort.
Swimming pool size 7mt.x 14mt
The swimming pool is perched on top of the hill, overlooking the countryside perfect setting for Aperitivo al Fresco! . It is surrounded by a large patio and lawn, trees for shade, a large gazebo with table, chairs and barbecue. The swimming pool is surrounded by patio and furnished with parasols, low tables, loungers . To the front of the house there is a covered patio with table and chairs and a play area with swings, slide, and merry- go - round for young children.
To the side of the house off the kitchen there is a fenced and gated garden with covered patio, large table, chairs, barbecue , some lounges and secular Pine trees that give wonderful shade. On the estate there is ancient cellars where the monks used to store their provisions. The cellar with our Wines, Extra-virgin olive oil and fresh products is open to our guests.

The house is ideal for a single family or a small group holiday, it can sleep up to 10 people comfortably. It is child friendly with a playground in the garden, games room, with ping pong table and other games when tired of playing in the swimming pool. The house has 2 wood burning fireplaces and central heating .
It is a working farm, with vineyard and olive grove where guest are welcome to help with the harvest.
Fresh bread is delivered every day by the local baker who makes a round of the local farmsteads.
5 minute drive from the farmhouse is the pretty hilltop village of Montaione with shops, bakery, banks, doctor, pharmacy and petrol station. Walking distance is a marvellous restaurant with a private path through our vineyard.
Neaby we have tennis courts, stables, fishing we can also arrange for bikes. The golf course of Castelfalfi is 10 minute drive from the house. The nearest train station with connections to Florence, Siena and Pisa is 15 minutes by car.

Very well furnished with all modern appliances, the kitchen is very equipped for anyone that enjoyes cooking. Very spacious bathrooms with enclosed showers, large basins, cabinets, bidet and wc.
The bedrooms are spacious with high ceilings well furnished with top of the range mattresses and cool white cotton linens.

Swimming is perched on top of hill away from the living area, it is surrounded by patio and beautiful garden with Gazebo furnished with table, chairs and BBQ.

The Montaione / Mura area

The pretty hilltop village of Montaione is situated in the Tuscan countryside, at 373 mt above sea level, surrounded by a tapestry of vineyards, olive groves , rows of cypresses and woodlands.

Montaione has ancient origins from the Etruscan-Romans settlements, you can still visit the Roman Cistern just outside the village.
In 1118 the Parish Church of dedicated to St. Regolo in Piazza was built and remains a notable example of Romanesque Architecture
In the centre of village you will find small shops with local products, pharmacy, banks, post office,library, tourist information desk, banks, doctors,restaurants, bars and bus service .
From June to the end of September every Saturday their is an open air market, all shops and bars stay open until late.
