Home description

Les Crécerelles is a newly restored farm cottage ideally located between Perigueux and Riberac in the valley of the River Dronne. Set in an elevated position, this south-west facing property enjoys delightful Dronne valley views, yet is within minutes from shops and river walks, a restaurant is just a short appetizing walk away from the cottage.

A private swimming pool is adjacent to the house and the secluded sun terrace. Walnuts can be picked from the tree in the garden, or just relax on the hammocks in its shade. Sunset dining is a must on the terrace after an evening swim. The ever changing landscape views of orchards, sunflower and maize fields below the cottage are a pleasant reminder of French rural life
This charming cottage is equipped with satellite TV, DVD & CD, yet retains its original features and charm. The oak beamed farmhouse kitchen, dining room has a stone fireplace with log burner for those cosy winter nights. All rooms enjoy views over the Dronne river valley and woodlands.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

The Dordogne, which corresponds to the former province of Perigòrd is itself divided into four regions the Périgord(s) Noir, Blanc, Vert and Rouge, its geography and natural resources make it one of the untouched regions of Europe, and the newly-formed Parc Naturel Périgord-Limousin aims to conserve it as such. It is a fertile, productive landscape dotted with some of the most beautiful villages and castles in France. The climate is temperate with mild winters and long hot summers. The the area is noted for its cuisine, particulary its truffles and foie gras and the local wines include the famed Bergerac reds and whites together with the sweet Monbazillac


Montagrier area

The village Montagrier is situated in the heart of the Périgord Vert overlooking the verdant Dronne Valley, in an area famous for its canoeing, cycling, walking and equestrian activities. Mountain bikes ( VTT) can be hired at Montagrier cycle centre, together with canoes at the nearby river. Lake Jemaye in the Double Forest is close by. Here can be found water sports, swimming areas, beach, and associated activities. Rock climbing sites are also to be found in the area.
