The Quebec Province region
Nestled in a landscape of lakes, rivers and mountains, the picturesque town of Mont Tremblant is just a 90 minute drive north of cosmopolitan Montreal in the province of Quebec.
Montreal is a fascinating mix of old and new, where the quaint cobbled streets of the old town with its French charm mingle happily with the sophistication of downtown Montreal and its fabulous network of underground shopping malls, eateries and nightlife.
Quebec City is North America's only walled city and a UNESCO World Heritage site and lies just 4 hours drive from Mont Tremblant.
Ottawa, Canada's capital, lies just over 2 hours away in the province of Ontario, and is home to the country's parliament and National Gallery.
English is widely spoken and understood, however the region's official language is French, giving Quebec a unique identity and charm.
Quebec's climate, with dry, cold winters and warm, lazy summers makes Mont Tremblant a truly year round destination.
In the winter, from late November to late April (and sometimes even into May ), the Laurentians become blanketed with snow and Tremblant truly shines as the premiere ski resort in eastern North America.
In the summer, the Mont Tremblant National Park is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise of walking and mountain biking trails, whilst in the Fall the Laurentians are renowned for their brilliant display of autumn foliage which Tremblant celebrates with it's annual " Symphony of Colours".
Discover the charms ot the three Mont-Tremblant sectors:
Tremblant Resort, home to 94 amazing ski runs, is alive all year round with music festivals, sports activities, restaurants and nightlife. Its pedestrian village will enchant you with its authentic Quebec architecture and multicoloured roofs.
Old Mont Tremblant village on the edge of lake Mercier, quaint and charming with an art gallery built in the old railway station, fine dining, a summer market and bike and walking paths.
Mont Tremblant downtown( also known as St Jovite) is the closest to our house, only five minutes drive. Here you will find restaurants, boutiques, antique shops, supermarkets, banks and most other services you might need.
This magnificent region, rich in natural attractions, is a true paradise for nature-lovers and enthusiasts of outdoor activity or inactivity.
Summer fills the mountain and resort with those interested in mountain biking, hiking, fishing, golfing on world class courses, canoeing and kayaking, as well as those that simply want to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery whilst taking advantage of the many restaurants and pavement cafes.
In the fall during Tremblant's "Symphony of Colours" visitors are invited to take the gondola up the mountain and enjoy the spectacular natural canvas from above.
In winter, the 94 ski runs over three separate areas combine to make Tremblant resort into what has been voted North Americas No1 ski resort for 10 years running. Skiing is also available on the smaller family run Mont Blanc slopes just 10km away and a forty five minute drive takes you to St Sauveur, home to the largest night skiing area in the world. There is also the chance to go ice climbing, dogsledding, snowmobiling, tubesliding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or ice fishing.

"Couldn't ask for a better vacation rental"
An absolutely fabulous vacation rental. If you are looking to spend some time in the Mont Tremblant area look no further. This beautiful home is modern, spacious, and conveniently located just minutes from the village. With ample room, and all of the amenities of home you won't be disappointed. I have stayed several times and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. The property owner Nick is most accommodating and very easy to deal with.

"Magical Way To Start The New Year"
We have done some vacation rentals in the past with mixed results so initially we were considering a hotel in the area -but given that we were a group of ten, ranging in age from 3 to 76, we decided to look for a comfortable home. Well, Nick and Claire's home was the best vacation home we have ever stayed in. The size was just right for our large group. The downstairs den and bedroom were shared by the teens who were happy to have their own space; the upstairs living room with the fireplace became the focal point for late night family stories and the occasional glass of wine. The bedrooms were a good size with more storage space than most hotel rooms. The house is on a golf course close to the river; the whole area was under several feet of snow and about fifteen minutes after our arrival, we were greeted by a deer in the backyard. The keen skiers caught the shuttle right around the corner from the house; the non-skiers enjoyed sledding (using the sleds that were kindly left in the ski closet) and walking in the silence of snow falling among the trees. There are very good grocery stores in the area, and for restaurants, the house is midway between the colourful (but more expensive- except the superb Creperie Catherine) Tremblant resort and the more village-style St. Jovite, both an easy drive away.
What made the experience even better were the friendly and helpful owners, Nick and Claire, who have a knack for thinking of all the details that one might need while away from home. It is clear that they love their "Canada home" and they try very hard to make their guests feel the same way. Thank you to the Matthews family for sharing their lovely home (including the Paddington book!) with us.
