The house is ideal for a beach holiday as the sandy resorts of Genets, Carolles, Jullouville and St Pair sur Mer are just a short drive away. The beaches are all very popular with families as they have rock pools and shallow water. For a more active holiday the area is ideal for cycling, horse riding, ballooning and microlighting. Why not take a guided walk to Mont Saint Michel - just 5 km across the Bay...
Le Domaine is in the picturesque village of Vains with the tabac and creperie a 2 min walk along the road and the national cycle route goes past the house down to the Bay with stunning views over to Mont St Michel at Le Grouin du Sud just a short cycle away.

The Normandy / Manche region
Le Manche is the most westerly part of Normandy and it has the long coast line all the way down from Cherbourg to the Bay of Mont St Michel. The elegant resort of Granville is great for water sport enthusiasts and you can catch a ferry to the Ile du Chausey with its stunning unspoilt scenery. The sleepy resort of St Jean Le Thomas has breathtaking views out to Mont St Michel and you can join in with pony trekking from here too. Walking tours across the Bay head off from Genets and Le Grouin du Sud just along from the view point - there is a musuem of life on the Bay here too. Le Manoir du Vains is a short cycle from the house and its full of history about the role of ancient Normandy. The D-Day landing beaches are a short drive away and in Avranches there is a museum dedicated to World War II. Bayeaux is less than an hour's drive away as is the cosmopolitan city of Rennes and the walled town of St Malo.
Mont St Michel / Avranches area
A great way to learn about Mont St Michel before you visit is to go to the Manuscript museum in Avranches that is an interactive visit through the history of the Abbey. In Avranches there are lots of lovely restaurants and cafes and the Botantical Gardens has a great view out over the Bay. Avranches also has the Aqua Baie swimming centre with a water slide and a toddler pool as well as a main swimming pool and a fun pool. There are theme parks and water parks in the area and information on them is available in the holiday house. There is the zoo at Champrepus about a 30 minute drive away. St Malo is a wonderful place to visit with its boutiques and beaches and there is also an aquarium there for rainy days. Rennes is a great day trip with lots of cafe culture and fabulous shopping!
How to get there
The village of Vains is accessible via all the main ferry ports and is less than a 2 hour drive from Cherbourg and Caen and less than 1 hour's drive from St Malo.
Brittany Ferries has regular crossings to these ports as well as Condor Ferries. LD Lines has crossings to Le Havre which is a 2.5 hour drive to the house. From the cross Channel ferry ports the house is approximately a 5 hour drive. Dinard airport has flights from Bristol, East Midlands and Stansted and is less than 1 hour drive from the house.
You can hire cars from Dinard airport or from the town of Dinard. There are also trains from Dinard to Avranches where the train station is about 3 km from the house. There is a regular train service at Avranches to and from Granville and Rennes from where connections can be made to Paris.

Further details indoors: The house can accommodate up to 8 guests (plus cot) with 2 large family bedrooms each with double and 1 with bunk beds the other with a truckle bed. The lounge area on the ground floor has a comfortable sofa bed to become an extra double bedroom. Guests can request a travel cot, booster high chair or buggy. There is a selection of toys and board games as well as a CD/DVD player.
Relaxing The house comes equipped with modern conveniences such as cooker, dishwasher, microwave and a laundry room to help you and your family have more time to spend on the beach. There is a dining room that easily seats 8 people and the garden is a perfect spot for enjoying the views.
Convenient The village of Vains has a Tabac so guests can walk for fresh bread and croissants for breakfast. The adjoining Creperie restaurant serves good food at reasonable prices. Children are welcome and there is a games room for them to enjoy.
Further details outdoors: The grounds at Le Domaine are beautiful and guests can enjoy the gardens with a full range of dining furniture and loungers. There are also various garden toys and games available to guests and out of high season there are also bikes available to use.

An English and French speaking agent is always available for guests with a full range of tourist information in the information pack in the holiday house. The secure and enclosed garden is shared with the owner's second home but guests have priority over the main garden. Due to farm animals nearby guests are not permitted to bring dogs.
Conditions
Guests can choose to hire bedding and or towels as well as additional equipment, such as a buggy, stair gate, high chair or cot. A 100€/£100 refundable damage deposit is required and a one off 25€ cleaning preparation fee is payable on arrival. A high electricity usage fee may be incurred during winter lets.

Guests are welcome to bring their own sheets and duvets covers (duvets and pillows provided) or to hire bedding (9 euros per bed) and towels (7 euros per person). There is a damage deposit of £100 or 100 euros to be paid prior to holiday start date. Full payment of holiday to be received 6 weeks before start date. Saturday to Saturday check-in preferred.
All guests will need to pay a one-off cleaning/preparation charge of 25€ on arrival.
