Les Saules is only 2 km from Le Mont St Michel of which there is a stunning view from the house. Large garden with trees and overlooking neighbouring countryside. An ideal location for walking, cycling or just simply relaxing in the garden. At night the Mont is lit up making an impressive sight, you can get to the Mont by turning left at the junction with the Auberge at the end of the road turn right, this leads directly to the Mont. There is a folder in the cottage of various places you might like to visit. Excellent beaches can be found at Carolles, Jullouville and St. Malo. Pontorson is the main town and has a market every Tuesday, Avranches & Rennes are worth a visit as is Dinan, take a trip along the river, there is a boat that runs between Dinan and St. Malo.

Mont St Michel / Ardevon area
Mont St. Michael is a picturesque Benedictine abbey located on a rocky islet near the French town of St. Malo. The abbey is an impressive sight, with its towering granite walls sitting some 240 feet above sea level atop a stratum of stone shops and small houses that angle upwards from the imposing stone wall at the base of the islet.

Omaha Beach; The Omaha Beach area is one of many war memorials in this part of Normandy (both Allies and German). It is the biggest and most important one, and an area where one of the biggest battles of Operation Overlord took place during WWII. Omaha Beach is in hands of the USA's American Battle Monuments Commission. It is a most impressive, well maintained area. When you walk alongside the thousands and thousands of graves, you feel humble.
