Mont St.Michel is almost on the doorstep (5 minutes by car) - (the owners are very willing to drop/pick you up afterwards at no extra cost) - and the nearest beaches in Brittany are only 15 minutes by car. It has a large, open aspect, south-west facing garden - perfect for sun-worshippers during the day and later for watching the sunsets and star-gazing. Combine this with comfortable garden furniture, sun loungers and barbeque and you hardly need to move to have a totally relaxing holiday. If you are of a sporty nature there are walking, cycling and horse riding trails, kayaking, fishing - there are three rivers in close proximity (our nearest is the Couesnon where you can fish with no cost) - Ten Pin bowling, sand yachting, micro-flights and a Hippodrome for horse meetings (trotting and gallop). The nearest 18 hole golf course awaits you only 20 minutes away.Conveniently placed for trips to The Channel Islands (from St.Malo or Granville) and Paris (catch the train in Dol de Bretagne - 15 mins by car). Our garden is directly on the Normandy/Brittany border and allows you to enjoy both regions.

The Basse-Normandie region

Normandy is a beautiful region of France not only steeped in history but with a coastline and culture to match!

Where to start….for historians it is the home of Mont St.Michel - one of France's most visited monuments - well-known for it's impressive spring and autumnal tides, You can enjoy it's beauty not only by a visit inside but on foot or horse-back across the Baie - it is a haven for wildlife. Normandy was the home of William The Conqueror and also played a vital part during World War 2 in the Liberation of France - St.Mere Eglise, Avranches, The D-Day beaches and the many cemeteries are testament to this.

The cuisine is what you would expect from an area rich in dairy products - when combined with the fresh seafood and local drinks of cider and Calvados they produce a spectacular menu choice.

The coastline and beaches are in abundance for those who love the beach, as are the country lanes for those who love outdoor pursuits.

There is, quite simply, something for everyone!

Beauvoir, our local village and the last before you reach Mont St.Michel, has many hotels, bars, shops and restaurants and at the side of the River Couesnon, with a beautiful view of The Mont, there is a picnic area and children's playground. Cycles are available for hire and Alligator Bay – a reptilarium – is popular with children. For anglers there are three rivers in close proximity – the nearest being the Couesnon – and there is a fishing shop in Pontorson for your needs. The Hippodrome holds regular meetings for horse trotting.

Organized horse treks and walks across the Baie are also available. If you fancy a Micro-flight – it's here!

Our nearest town is Pontorson, very old – the church dates from the 12th Century – and also very pretty – again with a variety of shops, restaurants and supermarkets. Kayaks can be hired and there is a good local market on Wednesdays - particularly for fresh, local produce. Vide Greniers are also popular in many local places.

The are two WW2 cemeteries (American and German) within 20km and the motorway is accessible within 3 km to give you easy access to a host of other places to visit in both Brittany and Normandy.

It really is impossible to state everything the area has to offer – we would love you to visit and see for yourselves!
