About the home

Beyly is a 6 bedroom farmhouse & barn in open countryside. It is the perfect place to spend a family holiday or somewhere for a group just to get away from it all.

The house is set in its own land with no nearby neighbours. There is a private 12 x 5m pool next to the house which is ideal for cooling down in the hot weather. Extensive lawn areas lead down to two large open ponds, ideal for games or just walking through. The views from the house are to open countryside and a cliff top church which is spectacularly lit up at night. The house is approached by a private drive and is well away from any roads or tracks.

Large open oak kitchen with a full-size Aga, separate gas hobs & oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. There is an informal dining area in the kitchen and a central island and preparation area. A wide hallway with exposed beams and masonry leads to a large lounge with log burner, piano, plenty of seating and books on hand. There is also English SkyTV and a UK DVD player. Further on is a formal dining room. There is also a utility room, downstairs WC & shower room, and an optional ground floor bedroom. To the first floor are six bedrooms, one en suite, family bathroom & WC and two large beamed landings with original historic staircase. Externally is a covered parking area for several cars and various outbuildings including a large barn with a log pile for the fire.

Beyly is set in its own 8 acres. 2 acres are mown lawn around the house and there are 2 ponds within this area offering lots of wildlfe. You can dine alfresco under a natural creeper canopy or on the wide terrace next to the pool. The exterior can be lit up at night, as can the pool and the pool terrace.

There is an English-speaking contact on hand in case of questions or problems, or should you require any further services such as cleaning or cooking. We also have contacts for other services such as a private chef and pool tenders to help you make the most of your stay (at additional direct cost).

Conditions

Strictly no smoking except outside.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% required with booking, followed by full balance at least 8 weeks before your stay (unless late booking).
Refundable breakages deposit of £250 required with booking, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Gironde region

This beautiful area of the Gironde with its wonderful climate lends itself to the local produce of grapes, prunes, asparagus and more. The rolling hills make it ideal for walking or cycling, the wooded areas and rivers are great for picnics.

There are lots of events in the area like the outdoor classical concerts and opera held in the courtyard at the Chateau de Duras or the famous 24hr Jazz Festival in Monsegur. Duras and Monsegur have a host of shops, restaurants and bars to cater for all your needs. Lac de Castelgaillard (10km) is a large lake which offers archery,riding, canoe and windsurfer hire, and there is a sandy beach with swimming and waterslides.

The Monsegur Gironde / Dieulivol area

A journey back in time, Dieulivol with its medieval church which can be seen in the distance on the hill from the house. The Bastille towns of Monsegur and Duras with its beautiful chateu both 5km away. The city of Bordeaux and the medieval towns of St Emillion and Monpazier are all reached within the hour by car.

There is fresh fare to be had at the markets in Monsegur (5km) on Fridays (morning) and Wednesday evenings (summer months) with cooked food and live music! Duras market is on Mondays (5km) and the famous market of St Foy le Grande on Saturdays (20km)
