About the home

"La Casa Vista" (The house with a view) is very private and is set in 17,000 sq. m (4+acres) of private gated land amongst tranquil almond and olive orchards and vineyards.
Most days the shepherd passes with his flock of sheep and goats. He lives half a mile along our lane.
Monovar, which is a very Spanish town and not touristy is less than 10 minutes away.
The local shopkeepers and bar / restaurant owners are very willing to help locals and tourists alike and there is a very good supermarket with English products sold.
The Monday market is well worth a visit. As are other markets in the surrounding towns and villages.
The area is perfect for walking and cycling or just sit beside the pool or on the terraces and admire the views.

The Spanish weather from October until May can be very pleasant and September 2010 averaged 27 degrees. September 2011 was 34-38 degrees in the shade. You can sit out mid-day to eat al fresco for most of the time. If you are unlucky, we have full central heating.
There are good roads in all directions from our villa, making it a pleasure to drive in the countryside (the campo).

The 214sq.metre villa has a high standard of furnishing and is well equipped. Insect screens are fitted to all windows. The dining room leads down steps into the large lounge which has a huge window with panoramic views. Casement doors lead from here onto the front terrace.
The separate kitchen has marble worktops with ceramic hob and a corner double sink unit.
All bedrooms have freestanding fans, plus a freestanding portable air conditioning unit, which is very effective.
There are games and books for the children and cards, dominoes and poker for the adults, plus fiction and non-fiction books.
Toddlers high chair, pushchair, potty, all available in utility room at no extra charge.

Further details outdoors:
The level sited villa is south facing and has 2 nayas (terraces).
You can breakfast in the sunshine in the back naya or sit further back into the depth of the naya which has shelter from the sun all day. The front naya has sunshine from mid-day until sunset where you can dine al fresco and admire the views. Again the depth of the naya allows you to sit in the shade if you wish.
Both nayas have table and chairs, plus table and seating areas beside the barbecue.
The private, floodlit ,walled swimming pool has lockable gates for the safety of young children. Roman steps lead into the shallow end. Poolside shower. Gazebo with table and chairs for shade beside the pool.
The tiled sunbathing area has ample space for chairs and the 6 sun beds, plus small tables provided.
The barbecue is adjacent to the gazebo with its own lighting.
The driveway has a gated, lockable entrance which leads into a large parking area .
A safe environment for children of all ages, with space all around the villa for play.
Toddlers bikes and play equipment. 14ft trampoline. "Butterfly" official size table tennis. Early Learning Centre climbing frame, swing and digger in the play area adjacent to the pool and barbecue.

A welcome pack including wine, is inclusive of your rental price.
Our agent will meet you at the villa on your arrival. He will be available during your stay for any problems that may arise.

Please note that the owners will not be held responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur in or around the property.

Our 2012 prices have been reduced off season to help you with other costs such as flight prices and car hire.

Conditions

NO SMOKING PLEASE

A 20% non-refundable deposit is payable on booking. Balance payable 6 weeks before holiday date.
A £200 returnable bond for any damage incurred is also required at time of final payment. There are two alternative methods of payment :-
1) 2 cheques, so that the damage bond cheque can be destroyed on your return if not needed. Or
2) Bank credit transfer for the rental and 1 cheque for the damage bond.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

Elda, (10minutes further along the motorway from Monovar ) has a hypermarket (Carrefor), designer shops, a cinema complex, nightclub and a small children's play area for that rare wet day.
For a day out -
Visit Benidorm (North of Alicante) with its excellent sandy beaches and aqua parks. It is only a 45 minute drive. Benidorm FIESTA WEEK in 2011 starts on Saturday 12th November until Wed. 16th. OR
Visit Santa Pola (South of Alicante) a quiet resort with good beaches, which takes 45 minutes by car.
NB. Elche ZOO is en route to Santa Pola.
The city of Elche is worth a visit and The Aljub Centre (Palm tree symbol) has ten pin bowling. This can be seen from the ring road. August 13th is a special firework night held in in Elche every year and is called la Nit de l'Alba. There are many interesting things to see in this city.
Alicante itself also has beaches worth visiting.
For a different day out , visit the thermal baths at Fortuna. It takes less than an hour towards Murcia and all the family will enjoy the hot water for swimming or relaxing.
ALENDA GOLF (Only a 20minute drive from the villa)
The Alenda Golf course was completed in October 1999. This 18-hole, par 72 golf course covers a land of 49 hectares, with 6257 metres and an excellent practice range.

The first nine holes are fun and easy to play, with wide fairways (which is great for those tee shots), and bordered by indigenous vegetation (pine, olive, carob and palm trees). However, the next nine holes require greater concentration, as the round is more technical and precision will count more than distance, and where holes 17 and 18 will clearly be decisive in your final score.

The Golf School has an excellent practice range with 40 tees and areas for practising short and medium-range play at all levels. It has an audiovisual room equipped with all the latest technology, where theory classes are given. All the school´s teachers are qualified from the Royal Spanish Golf Federation. Alenda Golf offers a series of golf courses for individuals and groups, with beginners and advanced classes, depending on the student´s levels.

The Monovar area

Monovar is an old Spanish town with 12000 inhabitants, set in the Vinalopo Valley with majestic mountains all around. It has a history from the Romans and the Moors and has a beautiful 300 year old Baroque style Church, a Clock Tower and castle ruins.

TEMPERATURES in MONOVAR - NOW in JUNE 2011 are 31 degrees (to-day the 16th) and the forecast until the end of the month is no lower than 26. Compare that with the UK.

Fiesta celebrations are held at Easter and in September.
The 2011 SEPTEMBER FIESTA is on the 8th and 9th, culminating in a procession through the streets. Sweets are thrown from the floats and the children love it.
September temperatures are usually in the upper 20's. 2010 ranged from 24 to 29 degrees and October is continuing with 24 and 25 degrees daily.) September 2011 temperatures were very hot , like in August.

Excellent locally produced wine can be bought at the " Primitivo Luiles" bodega in the town, which is next to the Bullring, where bullfights are held several times a year.
The surrounding villages also have their own bodegas which you can freely visit and purchase their win

Alicante airport is only 40 minutes from our villa.
(30 minutes on the motorway and 10minutes on good roads from the motorway.)
Car hire is easily available from the airport and is much cheaper if booked in advance. If you need any help I am willing to offer advice.

“What a fabulous villa!!” We had a fantastic two weeks here, excellent facilities, peaceful, gorgeous views, plenty of things for the children to do. All the equipment available for young children/babies is fantastic...a real home from home!! It's just perfect!!

A supplement of £30 per person, per week, charged for the 7th, 8th and 9th persons.
