"La Casa Vista" (The house with a view) is very private and is set in 17,000 sq. m (4+acres) of private gated land amongst tranquil almond and olive orchards and vineyards. Most days the shepherd passes with his flock of sheep and goats. He lives half a mile along our lane. Monovar, which is a very Spanish town and not touristy is less than 10 minutes away. The local shopkeepers and bar / restaurant owners are very willing to help locals and tourists alike and there is a very good supermarket with English products sold. The Monday market is well worth a visit. As are other markets in the surrounding towns and villages. The area is perfect for walking and cycling or just sit beside the pool or on the terraces and admire the views. There are good roads in all directions from our villa, making it a pleasure to drive in the countryside (the campo).

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
Elda, (10minutes further along the motorway from Monovar ) has a hypermarket (Carrefor), designer shops, a cinema complex, nightclub and a small children's play area for that rare wet day. For a day out - Visit Benidorm (North of Alicante) with its excellent sandy beaches and aqua parks. It is only a 45 minute drive. Benidorm FIESTA WEEK is from November 6th in 2009. OR Visit Santa Pola (South of Alicante) a quiet resort with good beaches, which takes 45 minutes by car. NB. Elche ZOO is en route to Santa Pola. The town of Elche is worth a visit and The Aljub Centre (Palm tree symbol) has ten pin bowling. This can be seen from the ring road. Alicante itself also has beaches worth visiting. For a different day out , visit the thermal baths at Fortuna. It takes less than an hour towards Murcia and all the family will enjoy the hot water for swimming or relaxing.
Monovar / Campo area
Monovar is an old Spanish town with 12000 inhabitants set in the Vinalopo Valley with majestic mountains. It has a history from the Romans and the Moors and has a beautiful 300 year old Baroque style Church, a Clock Tower and castle ruins. The summer week long fiesta is held at the beginning of September. Excellent locally produced wine can be bought at the " Primitivo Luiles" bodega in the town, which is next to the Bullring, where bullfights are held several times a year. The surrounding villages also have their own bodegas which you can freely visit and purchase their wine.
How to get there
Alicante airport is only 40 minutes from our villa. (30 minutes on the motorway and 10minutes on good roads from the motorway.) Car hire is easily available from the airport and is much cheaper if booked in advance. If you need any help I am willing to offer advice.

Further details indoors: The 214sq.metre villa has a high standard of furnishing and is well equipped. Insect screens are fitted to all windows. The dining room leads down steps into the large lounge which has a huge window with panoramic views. Casement doors lead from here onto the front terrace. The separate kitchen has marble worktops with ceramic hob and a corner double sink unit. All bedrooms have freestanding fans, plus a freestanding portable air conditioning unit, which is very effective.

Further details outdoors: The level sited villa is south facing and has 2 nayas (terraces). You can breakfast in the sunshine in the back naya or sit further back into the depth of the naya which has shelter from the sun all day. The front naya has sunshine from mid-day until sunset where you can dine al fresco and admire the views. Again the depth of the naya allows you to sit in the shade if you wish. Both nayas have table and chairs, plus table and seating areas beside the barbecue. The private, floodlit ,walled swimming pool has lockable gates for the safety of young children. Roman steps lead into the shallow end. Poolside shower. Gazebo with table and chairs for shade beside the pool. The tiled sunbathing area has ample space for chairs and the 6 sun beds, plus small tables provided. The barbecue is adjacent to the gazebo with its own lighting. The driveway has a gated, lockable entrance which leads into a large parking area . A safe environment for children of all ages, with space all around the villa for play. New in April 2008 - 14ft trampoline. New in 2009 - "Butterfly" official size table tennis and full size table football game. Also Early Learning Centre climbing frame.

A welcome pack including wine, is inclusive of your rental price. Our agent will meet you at the villa on your arrival. He will be available during your stay for any problems that may arise.
Please note that the owners will not be held responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur in or around the property.
Conditions
NO SMOKING PLEASE
A 20% non-refundable deposit is payable on booking. Balance payable 6 weeks before holiday date. A £200 returnable bond for any damage incurred is also required at time of final payment. There are two alternative methods of payment :- 1) 2 cheques, so that the damage bond cheque can be destroyed on your return if not needed. Or 2) Bank credit transfer for the rental and 1 cheque for the damage bond.
