The Puglia region

Italy’s south easternmost region, the “heel” of the boot, is bordered by both the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, giving it one of the longest coastlines of any region in Italy. It is largely untouched by tourists.

It is known for its lovely beaches, intriguing grottoes, tall rock formations and the picturesque, tiny islands just off its coast.

The region’s geography is quite diverse: most of Puglia is flat and agricultural, growing fruit, vegetables, and grain in its mild Mediterranean climate.

Monopoli

Monopoli is e seaside town, with charming white limestone houses and a beautiful cathedral. A characteristic town wall rises from the sea, behind its tranquil and picturesque beaches.

The small town of Alberobello has been made a UNESCO world heritage site for its undisturbed districts of Trulli. Capitolo is one of the longest and sandy beach in Puglia with night-life with disco, bars and restaurants.

Within easy access to:

Martina Franca, a small town settled 431m above sea level. The main attraction is the “Old town centre” a typical example of Baroque art.

Ostuni, the so-called “Old Town” is considered an architectural jewel, and is even known as “The white town” (la citta’ Bianca) for its white walls and its characteristic white-painted architecture.

Polignano a Mare, a small village where the skyline is formed by brilliant white square, Mediterranean buildings which seem to grow organically out of the rocky limestone cliffs.

Selva di Fasano, is a village in the spectacular hill of the Fasano district with stunning views overlooking the Adriatic coast, in this area there is Fasanolandia, the largest zoo-safari in Italy with 120 hectares of protected area where over 1000 animals of 40 different species live freely roaming, with attached theme park with dolphin shows, Monkey Village and etc...

Egnatia, an archaeological site with remains starting from the ancient Messapian settlement with a necropolis of the 4th century BC, to the Roman town with forum, amphitheatre, the Via Traiana and a very ancient basilica of the early Christian era.
