About the home

You enter the house directly into the livingroom/dining room which has a table and six chairs, a double sofabed and two armchairs an open fireplace and a high vaulted ceiling with beams, Leading off this is a wellequipped kitchen,a shower room with WC, a double bedroom and a single bedroom.

Outside in the garden a very large, detached store room with ensuite shower room has been converted into a ‘den’ for older children with two single beds and a double sofa bed – room for additional single. There are also a selection of toys for younger children, as well as older so this space can also be used as a playroom.

Large terraced garden with orchards and vegetable garden – cherries, figs, apricots, olive trees. Guests welcome to pick fruit and vegetables in season. Shaded pergola for dining . Garden furniture, large hammock and pool loungers. Outdoors kitchen, wood fired pizza oven and barbecue. Pool (5x6) can be fenced off . Five a side football pitch. Total grounds 2 hectares including a wooded area. Lovely walks and great area to explore by bike (can be hired at a nominal charge)

The Puglia/Molise region

Puglia has everything a holiday maker could want - lots of pretty little towns to explore with medieval town centres and interesting churches and architecture, beautiful beaches, either rocky or white sand, with a crystalline turquoise sea, fantastic food and wine, including fish and seafood and a relaxed, unspoilt, way of life.

The area is mostly very untouristy and the locals are genuinely friendly and welcoming. The cost of living is relatively low.

The Monopoli area

Monopoli has a medieval town centre with interesting churches and a baroque cathedral. There is a daily fruit and vegetable market, a weekly general market and an excellent choice of restaurants and bars. There is a large choice of beaches to suit every taste, from little rocky coves with and in the middle to long stretches of white sand, with or without services.

Alberobello, Unesco world heritage site, with its clusters of trulli houses is only 5 kms away. Other nearby towns worth a vist are Polignano with its dramatic clifftop setting and pretty historiical cente, Ostuni 'the white city' and Locorotondo and Cisternino. An excellent zoo safari park, with funfair rides, is within a twenty minute drive as are the famous grottoes at Castellana.

Fly to either Bari or Brindisi. Ryanair fly direct from London Stanstead, BA from Gatwick from April to October. alternatively there are Alitalia flights via Rome or Milan. We can arrange airport transfers.
