The village derives its name from the three standing stones, known as 'Harold's Stones', and was once one of the largest towns in Wales, hence its wonderful church.
The history of the village draws many to visit the three stones as well as the Virtuous Well and the Tump Turret, a 40 foot mound which dates back to Norman times and is known to be the remains of a motte and bailey castle.
Outstanding walks are enjoyed by all, whether to explore the history of the area or just take in the magnificent countryside. Pop into the village pub or enjoy a picnic along the way.
The surrounding area gives you the option to explore more history at Tintern Abbey and Raglan Castle, visit beautiful Ross-on-Wye or enjoy cycle rides in this most scenic part of Wales.
