The Powys/Brecon Beacons region

Monmouth is in a stunning region of South Wales, situated in the Wye Valley at the foot of the Forest of Dean you are surrounded in picturesque countryside. Monmouth is easy to find and once here it makes an ideal base from which to explore the Black mountains and Offers Dyke, the Forest of Dean.

Because of this regions proximity to the English boarder Monmouth has a castle as do many of the smaller villages of Skenfrith, Llantillio-crosseny and Raglan.

The Monmouth music festival is in the last week of July and it takes place in Agincourt Square with 9 days of free music. In August we have The Monmouth show the largest one day agricultural show in Britain. There are many food and culture festivals during the summer in the surrounding towns, there are some which are world famous such as the Hay on Wye literary and the Brecon jazz festival's.

Monmouth

Monmouth is a beautiful town which is nestled on the banks of the rivers Wye and Monnow with the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley providing a lush green backdrop. An ideal romantic getaway with tranquil blue bell carpeted woodlands, sweeping river banks and plenty of country pubs to accidently loose yourself in.

Monmouth itself is a bustling town with a farmers market every weekend, with a great selection of shops. The restaurant's and pubs make the most of the mild warm summers by offering Alfresco style dinning.

With both Salmon fishing and The Rolls Golf Club on our doorstep this is an ideal location and there is plenty of activities for the rest of the family from cycling, horse ridding, canoeing, walking, kayaking to name a few.

And if you fancy resting and relaxing and recharging you don't need a car at all once you have arrived as all of Monmouth town and its beautiful countryside are literally on your doorstep.
