The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne region
The Lot valley, south of the Dordogne is a beautiful, unspoilt, temperate and largely undiscovered area of self West France nestling between the Lot and the Garonne rivers. The open countryside of gentle hills and valleys provides a sense of freedom far away from the hustle and bustle of normal life, and all within driving distance of the popular Dordogne region. With forests, vineyards, and famland set amongst the many charming hill top bastide towns such as Monflanquin, Villereal, and Monpazier. The area is steeped with history, being part of the battlefield for the 100 years war. Only 3km from Cancon and 8km from Monflanquin both with shops, banks and restaurants. The swimming lake at Lougratte is only 5kms away. There are many vineyards nearby, including the famous St Emilion and Bergerac regions. Bordeaux is 90 mins away. Monflanquin / Boudy de Beauregard area
The whole area is littered with bastides and fortified towns and villages whose market squares offer a multitude of opportunities to taste the local food and mix with the population. Or return to nature with walking, cycling, horse riding, or canoeing. There is a swimming lake at Lougratte only 5kms away. There are many vineyards nearby, including the famous St Emilion and Bergerac regions. Vist the stunning chateaus of Bonaguil, Nérac and Gavaudun. If golf is your sport then vist Villeneuve sur Lot, he championship course only 9 kms away, or visit the course at Chateau des Vigiers set in the grounds of the magnificent chateau. For the children visit the Walibi theme park with it s flumes ad rides, or play in the treetop park in the sky.

Bergerac airport is 40 mins away, and Bordeaux 1 hour 30 mins, both with flights from ryanair and flybe. It is 660km from St Malo if you want to drive.

Further details indoors: There is a well equipped kitchen and dining area with open access to the impressive lounge, which extends the full height of the two storey building with a spiral staircase leading to the landing on the first floor. French doors open out towards the pool area on the side, and to a private terrace at the rear of the property. There are 4 very good sized double bedrooms upstairs, one of which can sleep up to 4 people, and a large bathroom and separate toilet. Downstairs is a 5th double bedroom taking the maximum occupancy to 12. There is another bathroom downstairs along with the utility room. There are plenty of tables and chairs for all guests to use
