Why choose our home?

This holiday house is very cozy. This is a family home in which we are very emotionally tied. On the roof of the house is a beautifully mounted photovoltaic system, of which we are proud. Renewable energy produced powers the entire villa. And 'attention to the smallest details. Respect for others is the basis of our principles and values, as well as respect for the environment and the nature that surrounds us. The light and heat from the sun, wind and water are natural sources of energy, inexhaustible and non-polluting.

We love our region as we love our family home. The area where it is located is very beautiful and also very safe.

About this location

The Sicily region

The largest island in Italian and Mediterranean cuisine and the remaining part is formed by the islands of the Eeolie Islands, the Egadi and Pelagie, Pantelleria and Ustica.

It is the largest region of Italy and its territory is divided into 9 regional provinces and 390 municipalities.

It is the only Italian region to number two among the ten most populous cities of the country: Palermo and Catania. It is bordered to the north by the Tyrrhenian Sea, south of the Sea of ??Sicily, on the east by the Ionian Sea and north-east by the Strait of Messina separates it from Calabria.

The oldest human traces found on the island is dated to 12,000 BC about. Around 750 BC, Sicily became a Greek colony and in the next 600 years it was the main battlefield of the wars greek-Punic and Roman-Punic, which ended with the destruction of Carthage by Rome. After the fall of the Roman Empire in the fifth century, Sicily was a land of conquest, and during the Middle Ages was subject to the Vandals, the Ostrogoths, Byzantines, Arabs and Normans, was born in the Kingdom of Sicily, lasted from 1130 to 1816, subject to the crown of Aragon in Spain, the Holy Roman Empire, and finally the Bourbons (later Kingdom of the Two Sicilies). It was joined to the rest of Italy in 1860, but the subsequent economic collapse has caused a wave of emigration, separatism and the emergence of the mafia, [citation needed] whose criminal activities still represent a problem. Even before the birth of the Italian Republic in 1946, to Sicily was granted the special status of autonomous region that has its own parliament.

Sicily, like the Campania and preceded only from Tuscany and Lombardy, includes six sites awarded the title of World Heritage granted by UNESCO for their historical, artistic, archaeological and natural: the Villa del Casale (1997) , the Valley of the Temples (1997), the Aeolian Islands (2000), the City late Baroque of Val di Noto (2002), Siracusa and the ancient center of Syracuse (2005), Mount Etna (2013). It has, again, the registration of the Opera dei Pupi between the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity (first Italian Heritage to be added to that list, 2001) as well as recognition as Well Ethno-Anthropological Heritage of the city of Catania for the Feast of St. Agatha.

The province of Palermo is an Italian province of Sicily of 1,250,296 inhabitants. It covers an area of ??4992 km ² and includes 82 municipalities.

Mondello is a village and tourist resort of Palermo, surrounded by Monte Gallo and Monte Pellegrino. Detached from the city from the Parco della Favorita, can be reached by means of the many real-lined avenues or through secondary links.

The area is renowned for the beach, which is one of the most coveted shores of Sicily, for its many Art Nouveau villas, known as the best example of Art Nouveau in Italy, and for sites of historical interest. It is home of the World Festival on the Beach.

Mondello is characterized by a sandy bay of tropical colors ranging from Monte Pellegrino to Monte Gallo, with a coastline of white sand along nowadays little more than 1.5 kilometers.

The landscape is influenced by the Natural Reserve of Capo Gallo and the reserve of Monte Pellegrino, described by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe "the most beautiful promontory in the world."

The Monte Pellegrino Oriented Nature Reserve is home to flora typical of coastal cliffs, with species such as the dwarf palm, the prickly pear, capers, cabbage rock, grass, pearl pink cliff, as well as some endemic species such as the cornflower of the cliffs ( Centaurea ucriae). The area of ??ground has large areas of Mediterranean scrub and forest, with species such as holm oak, the ash, the carob tree, arbutus, bay leaf, mastic, the buckthorn, the spurge, sarsaparilla.

The fauna presents the buzzard, the peregrine falcon, the kestrel, the barn owl, the scops owl and the little owl, while among the migratory we have the Honey Buzzard, among passerines important species are the Blue Rock Thrush and Cruises.

The natural reserve of Capo Gallo-oriented, including Mondello and Sferracavallo 15 km from the capital, is characterized by a wild seascape and at the same mountain, alongside pristine beaches and rugged cliffs of picturesque rocks that rise headlong over the sea, with numerous caves.

The Island of the Females Natural Reserve is located on the islet located about three hundred meters from the coast overlooking the town of Isle of females.

The Marine Protected Area Capo Gallo - Island of the Females involves an interesting marine environment between the previous two nature reserves

The cuisine of Palermo is rich and varied. Among the main courses, local specialties are pasta with sardines, tasty dish with fish, pasta with breadcrumbs, baked pasta and topped with "crumb" (breadcrumbs) and other flavorings fried, eggplant caponata, excellent vegetarian dish. A place apart is the famous pani ca 'meusa (bread with spleen), food icon of the city, flavorful sandwich stuffed with fresh spleen, which depopulated between the stalls of the entire province. The second most common are pork, mutton and sasizza, namely the very special sausage that is produced in many places, most notably Altavilla Milicia. Originals are the skewers to Palermo, exceptional bundles of veal stuffed with bread crumbs, raisins, pine nuts, cheese, with the addition of bay leaves and onion. Also famous are the Sardinian warbler, prepared with breadcrumbs, lemon and pine nuts. Palermo is internationally known for sfincione, lots of superb "pizza" topped with tomato, onion and bread crumbs, but especially for the fritters, inimitable dough made from chickpea flour fried with which it stuffs the bread: the fast walking are crammed . Everywhere there are the arancini. Still, the vast pastry boasts the fruits of marzipan (named after the monastery in Palermo), almond paste and colored molded shapes of characters or animals according to the traditional Easter; note Cassata, cake sponge cake covered with icing and candied and the melon jelly, sort of gelatin dall'anguria; refrigerants and tipicissime are the lemon granita.
