Farmhouse | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Camuzat consists of two adjoining self catering gites each with 2 double bedrooms accommodating parties of 2,4 6 or 8 people. The gites are adjacent to the main farmhouse but with separate entrances and privacy. The gites are fully modernized and comfortable but retaining their antique charm. They both have new kitchens and bathrooms and offer highly attractive decor and furnishings. The larger of the 2 gites has an outside shaded dining terrace, a further terrace with BBQ and a large deck leading off the two bedrooms with views west and glorious sunsets. The smaller gite has less outside facilities and is only let as an overflow from the main gite for parties requiring space for up to 8 persons. The smaller gite is never let to separate groups once the main gite is taken--thus preserving the exclusivity of pool and garden areas to one party only. Obviously prices differ according to the number of people in the group --and these are shown in the rates section of this ad.
Camuzat is set in an area of orchards and vineyards with beautiful views. The garden and pool area are well equipped with furniture, loungers, parasols and hammocks slung between fruit trees. The pool is for the exclusive use of renters but for the occasional dip from the owners if in residence.

The Aquitaine/Dordogne region
Camuzat is situated in the the region known as the Pays d'Albret in deep south of the Lot et Garonne on the border of the Gers. Jeanne d'Albret was the mother of Henri IV and the young prince grew up in the area. His riding trails are everywhere marked and make wonderul walks. Camuzat itself is situated on a small ridge overlooking the valley of the Baise to the East and the valley of the river Osse top the West . Camuzat is in the heart of the countryside surrounded by fields, orchards and vinyards and about 10km form four medieval towns -Nerac, Condom, Mezin and Francescas. They are typified by magnificent old churches, cloistered squares, medieval buildings and small winding streets. They also offer good restaurants, shopping and all other commecial needs. There are numerous other ancient and delightful villages nearby. The climate is generally sunny and warm in Sprng and Autumn and can be very hot in July and August. The four months of May, June, Sept and October are wonderful at Camuzat since the temperatures is less hot (although the pool is open from May to Oct) and there is a greater sense of peace due to less holiday traffic .
There is much history in the ancient local towns and villages. The countryside is beautifuland unspoilt. Walking, and cycling are favorite activities --as is canoeing on the rivers. There are good golf courses and waterparks nearby. There is excellent local wine --and this of course is the center of Armagnac production in France. The wineries and Armangac distilleries are everywhere and welcome visitors. There are many music festivals in the immediate area -along with antique fairs, flea markets, town markets and a variety of festivals. Most villages have at least one country fair in the summer with stalls, shows, outdoor dining, music and dancing until late. For a day out, the amazing cities of Toulouse and Bordeaux and only 90 mins drive away.
