The Algarve region
During your holiday, you may wish to visit some of the following attractions, which can be accessed easily from Colina Verde Golf & Country Club by using the A22.
* Zoo Marine entertainment park with seal and dolphin shows daily. Located near the EN125 at Guia. * Aqua Park - fun for all the family on the EN125 at Quarteria * Karting located on the edge of Almancil, off the EN125 * Condor de Vilamoura - daily cruises aboard the luxury two mast yacht moored at the marina, Vilamoura. * Casino de Monte Gordo - situated in Monte Gordo on the eastern Algarve off the A22, it features nightly performances of international floorshows, while visitors can enjoy the casino's gaming room which caters for Roulette, Portuguese dice, Blackjack and Poker.
Armona island can also be accessed by ferry or by water taxi from the waterfront at Olhao. The island is populated with a large number of beach houses and a handful of café bars. The main beach is pristine and uncrowded making it very popular for those wishing to plan a day trip.
Olhao is the nearest city to Colina Verde Golf & Country Club, about ten to fifteen minutes by car. It is essentially a fishing port and this is the mainstay for much of its people. Olhao's fresh fish market comes alive every day when the local fishing fleet lands its catch. A visit is recommended to see how time has not changed much of its tradition handed down from generation to generation.
The superb Olhao shellfish festival runs every year in August at the Jardin Do Pescador and features the best of Algarvian traditional fish recipes as well as concerts late into the evening.
There are many older churches worth visiting in the areas as well as visible footprints of occupation in ancient times by the Romans and Arabs at Cerro da Vila.
Moncarapacho area
Tavira is known as the 'Venice of the Algarve'. A town with a proud heritage, it's famous for its 37 churches and monuments as well as a magnificent castle. Tavira is considered to be the most architecturally attractive town in the Algarve. A visit to the top of the Torre de Tavira is a must to enjoy the spectacular views of the town.
Again, like Olhao, it has a long fishing tradition and the produce can be found in many local dishes served in the many friendly restaurants in the town.
A number of islands close to Tavira can be visited and these are also part of the nature reserve of Ria Formosa. They offer a large variety of bird life, water birds, local flora and fauna for the nature lover to experience.
The nearest beach to Colina Verde Golf & Country Club is at Fuzeta, a ten minute bus ride from the resort. Courtesy bus transfers can be arranged at reception. Fuzeta is a beautiful town that still maintains real Algarvian traditions and is well worth a visit. It is part of the protected reserve of Ria Formosa, where visitors can enjoy the fabulous variety of birdlife, exquisite flora and fauna in their most natural setting. Boat trips are available at Fuzeta to ferry visitors to the island of Fuzeta, a short trip of about five minutes, which boasts miles of stunning unspoilt beaches and clear warm waters.
How to get there
Colina Verde Golf & Country Club is located in the beautiful Eastern Algarve. Faro International airport is less than 3 hours flight time from most European Capital cities. Colina Verde Golf & Country Club is about 30 minutes by car from Faro Airport.
Fuzeta beach is 4kms away and you can hop aboard our resort bus to connect to and from the beach.

Each apartment has flat screen television with a choice of channels from cable and satellite, as well as a direct dial telephone and safe. There is plenty of underground and ground floor parking.
Further details outdoors: Our Executive style 9 hole par 3 golf course is suitable for beginners and more experienced players wishing to sharpen up their short game will find it quite a challenge. With average playing time of one and a half hours, there is plenty of time if you so wish to take in one of the 18 hole championship courses in the locality the same day. We offer golf club and trolley hire and there is a putting green ad chipping area, making it an ideal location for professionals wishing to train groups or individuals.
With outdoor football, outdoor tennis and a fully equipped gymnasium and health spa, there is plenty to interest those wishing to add some enjoyable physical activity to their holiday.
The gymnasium has been designed to accommodate everyone from the absolute beginner to the superbly conditioned. The gym features a comprehensive range of weight resistant and cardiovascular equipment, together with free weights and dedicated stretch area.
