Home description
A spacious home with many home comforts in the sunkissed village of Moltrasio famous for V.I.P's (Versace had a villa close by, 5 mins drive from George Clooney's villa) However Italians holiday here for the character of the village, lakeside walks, restaurants, little cafe bars, the culture and of course the sunshine.
The home was built more than a century ago and boasts spacious living for up to 6 guests with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms yet modern conveniences like satellite tv and internet access have been added as well as washing machine and dishwasher to the traditional kitchen.
From Moltrasio you can easily access by car or ferry the villages around the lake from Como to Menaggio or take the ferry to Bellagio and Varenna. Moltrasio is home to some wonderful restaurants and bars with little shops, minimarkets and deli's for your convenience goods scattered around the area and neighbouring villages. Skiing in the winter is possible less than an hour away in Lanzo or 2 hours to San Mortiz.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Lake Como is the perfect holiday retreat for your stay in Italy. 22 miles of pool blue water, majestic mountains with a touch of dolce vita make this an idyllic holiday venue.
Local regional home cooking, award winning gelaterias, fashionable boutiques, breathtaking gardens or just lounging on the beach are all activities that can be indulged in here.

Choose from Villa Carlotta, 30 minutes from the apartment with it's acres of beautiful lake facing gardens, Villa Balbinello in Lenno (25 minutes drive) for romance and relaxation (James Bond seemed to favour the latter in the recent Casino Royale production filmed here last summer)
Bellagio never fails to disappoint and offers a great excuse to take the water ferry across the lake. Marvel at it's picturesque promontories, cobbled streets and fine art shops all with lake views par excellence.
Make the short journey down to Cernobbio for an idyllic Sunday afternoon stroll. Menaggio, with it's pretty palm lined walkways it another pretty lake village worth exploring.
Moltrasio itself offers everything you could hope for in an authentic Italian village. Cafe culture, restaurants serving local specialities, ferry, bus service, lake side walks and a warm welcome from the locals! Here you can mix with the local Italians who will help provide you with an authentic lakeside adventure sampling real Lombaridan food (risotto is a favourite) and a relaxed approach to life is infectious to the point of helping you unwind and recharge your batteries!
Como is just a short drive or ferry journey for boutiques and designer shopping and Milan is reachable in just under an hour by car or take public transport (ferry/bus and train)

Living room with small balcony, tv, internet access,satellite tv, dining inside or alfresco, large comfy sofa. 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and 1 twin bedroom. 2 beautifully kept bathrooms, 1 with shower, 1 with bath and overhead shower. Study with sofabed. As you would expect from a traditionally styled villa, the apartment is steeped in tradition, character and offers a charming home to relax and come home to after a day exploring or boating on the lake.
Guests remark the apartment stays cool even in the summer providing a welcome retreat from balmy summer nights!
