The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Landes region
The Landes region of France is becoming ever more popular with its lond beaches and surf coastline. The pine forests surrounding the area add a beautiful charm and the area is very welcoming to families with many activities and the peace of the countryside when you need it.
The region is rich with long sandy surf beaches, world class golf courses, pine forests and pretty towns and villages. There are some beautiful historic place to visit such as St Jean de Luz. The Pyrenees are only a drive away.
Moliets area
Situated in one of the most beautiful forests in France, Moliets is a lively Landes village in a natural environment. Bordering a Pine wood and a golf course, the village is within easy reach of the beach and close to a surfing spot.
The weather is beautiful, with mainly clear sunny blue days. The proximity of the sea ensures there is always somewhere to go to cool down. The very warm weather runs from May - September but can be glorious in April and October too. In the winter, it is cold and frosty often and the ski areas are about 1 1/2 hours drive away.
Comfortable and welcoming, there are a wide variety of leisure activities for all tastes. In Moliets : - June: Saint-Jean Festival - August: Saints festivals
How to get there
By road: A10 motorway to bordeaux, followed by the a63 and the n10, exit no. 12 for castets. In castets, take the d42 to Léon, then follow directions for moliets via the d652, and finally “moliets plage”.
By train: Dax railway station (35km) Transfers by taxi or rdtl buses +33 (0)5 58 56 80 80.
Bayonne railway station (45km) Transfers by coach or taxis.
