This well equipped apartment is located 200 metres from the sandy Blue Riband beach, restaurants and bars. Situated in beautiful gardens with a generous sized swimming pool. There are a wide variety of great restaurants and bars all within close walking distance. The large sun balcony is equipped with table and chairs and sun beds from where you have breathtaking panoramic views of the Mediterranean, there is also a second balcony facing south with sun all day. The apartment has air conditioning in all bedrooms, and comes with a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious living/dining room, furnished with high quality leather sofas/large dining table, including UK Satellite television, DVD, Hi-Fi. This apartment caters comfortably for 6 people in 3 separate double bedrooms with full size beds. Master bedroom with double bed and en suite. Further 2 bedrooms with twin beds and shower room. There is a regular bus service running along the beach road with buses every 15 minutes until late for those not wishing to hire a car.

The Costa de Almeria region

Mojácar is about as far south as you can go in mainland Spain. It's easy to reach and well worth the effort. Having been occupied by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans and finally the Moors, Mojacar has created a culture of its own, and once visited, will capture your heart. Its Moorish history continues to influence its architecture. You can feel its past as you walk the labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets full of Moorish style dwellings. The shops and international restaurants have fitted in and have added to, rather than detracted from, the town's magical quality. Its captivating charm and tranquil atmosphere are intoxicating. Situated in the southeast corner of Andalucia in the Province of Almeria, Mojácar sits on a hilltop, facing the shimmering Mediterranean and overlooking miles of sandy uncluttered Blue Flag beaches, with the majestic Cabrera Mountains as a backdrop. Mojácar is the jewel in a cluster of villages.

Mojacar is situated on the south east coast of Spain, just 45 minutes from Almeria airport. The resort is quite lively with plenty of restaurants and bars and supermarkets, just back from the sandy beaches are mountains which for the energetic are good to explore or you can hire track bikes, Quad bikes or horses from the beach stables.
The area is illuminated by the sun. It glows for 3,000 hours every year and means that the average temperature is about 20 degrees Centigrade. It is a great spot for sun worshippers. In Mojácar winter is almost non-existent. Enjoying the best climate in Europe, the air is bright and clean. It is so light and clear that it has attracted painters and sculptors along with writers and musicians from the four corners of the world. It has become a Mecca for artists.
When foreigners began to discover what Mojácar had to offer and began to settle, the village elders took the decision that Mojácar would not be allowed to develop into another Benidorm or Marbella. You won't find the beach and the sea hidden from view, neither will you see platoons of high-rise apartment blocks or hotels. Residential buildings are limited to two floors and hotels to four. Mojácar has therefore been able to retain its essential charm. It remains part of what is called 'The real Spain.'

Mojacar / Mojacar Playa area

There are many outside activities in and around Mojacar, if you just want to chill out there is the pool or the beach, if you are feeling more adventurous you can rent horses from the beach and go for a hack. Rent Quad bikes and go off-road along the dried out river beds, Golf is never far away with easy to competition courses and two new ones less than 5 minutes away that will be open by next summer. If you fancy sea fishing contact Mike at the Beachcomber. You can also rent mountain bikes from a number of places on the playa, a short drive to Vera you will find a water-park, excellent fun for both kids and adults alike. A little farther a field at Tabernas there is a wild west centre and the film sets from many famous film epics. If you are in to walking bring your hiking boots there are fabulous rugged walks within minutes from the apartment. Go Karting is a short drive away with a good track and great karts. This is just some of the activities to amuse you whilst you are here.

The local restaurants are truly international and the best ones are within easy walking distance of the apartment.
'La Cabana' (Argentinean) Great mouth watering Argentian steaks.
'Agora' (Italian) Best for pizzas and pasta.
'Casa Egea' (Spanish)Certainly the best fish restaurant on the Playa, try the Foie gras as a starter.
'Bann Thai' (Thai)Great thai restaurant although a bit expensive.
'Smugglers' (English)Limited menu but well cooked and presented English food.
'La Cantina' (Mexican)Hot spicy Mexican food.
'Gala's' (English) Good food with good table service.
'Meditteraneo' (Spanish)Excellent shoulder of lamb.
'Palo Alto' (Spanish)Great Paella's but eat inside.
'Badgers' (English)Regular well cooked food, shows most football matches on sky.
There are a further 20 restaurants and Tapa bars within 5/10 minutes walking distance.
If you have a car, take a 20 minute drive to Bedar and try the Miramar restaurant, Excellent Lamb and Fish make sure you get a table on the terrace to enjoy the view.

How to get there

Daily flights to Almeria ( Approx 45 minutes from apartment) from Gatwick, Birmingham, Stansted, Exeter, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast with Airtours, Easyjet, Thompsons, Flybe, Ryanair etc.
Daily flights from Stansted, Gatwick, Luton, Manchester, Southampton to either Alicante and Murcia (Approx 2 hours from apartment) via Easyjet, Monarch, Flybe, Air2000 and other airlines including BA & Iberia.
Don't forget to take out travel insurance to cover medical and theft.

Your apartment is lovely, we all felt very comfortable and very much at home. It must be in one of the most sought after positions, the views as promised, were spectacular, we spent a good deal of time having breakfast, lunch or dinner on the balcony. The children (and us) loved the pool and had lots of fun in there. Laura.
