The apartment is located just 5 minutes' walk from the sandy beach. It is near the lively town of Garrucha which easy access to all amenities including the local market for bargain hunting, and many excellent restaurants for eating out. It is on a bus route between Garrucha, Mojacar Playa and Mojacar Pueblo.

The Costa de Almeria region
Costa de Almeria has one of the hottest climates in Europe which makes it an ideal location for anyone. The area is renowned for offering fantastic golf but apart from that it is an undiscovered area that offers wonderful beaches and is overflowing with Spanish history and culture.
Costa de Almeria is a varied place much like most Spanish cities. The coast is completely unspoilt which adds to it's charm. To the east of Almeria there is the rugged and desolate coast of the Cabo de Gata, also known as the Nijar natural park. This natural park is close by and is definitely worth a visit. Due to it's to be developed upon.
The area is often known as the desert of Europe due to its arid landscape. The annual rainfall here is less than 200mm. It is sparsely populated, with few villages and a very low population density. Visitors feel a sense of exploration here as many of the coves can only be reached on foot. This area is particularly popular with nature lovers and back-packers. The most popular coastal village is San José.
West of Almeria is the highly developed tourist resorts of Roquetas de Mar and Aguadulce. These have all the facilities of any modern resort to support the package holiday market.
At the north of the Costa de Almeria is the naturist beaches of Vera, a number of new complexes are being constructed here. A little further south is Mojacar which successfully combines the popular beach holiday with the hillside white village that tourist love to explore.
Almeria city is worth a visit with the Alcazaba castle overlooking the metropolis.
To the west we find the developing complex of Almerimar with Marinas, golf, hotels and many other facilities.
Mojacar area
Local places to visit are Garrucha, the nearest town. It is a lively town and during the summer there are late night market stalls near the marina. Mojacar Pueblo is a typical white washed village with stunning views from the plato in the town square. Mojacar Playa has something for everyone, from nightclubs to traditional tapas bars. You can hire a bike or a pedalo from one of the local shops.
There is go-karting for the adventurous There a numerous restaurants catering for all tastes. Garrucha has a 2 day fiesta in mid August, Mojacar has various fiestas throughout the year. The fireworks are spectacular. If you are a wine buff you can visit the ESTE vineyard, 1 1/2 hours from Mojacar. You can sample the various wines they produce and take some home with you.
