Home description
The House has three bedrooms (one en suite), a lounge-diner, a shower room, a toilet, kitchen, large hallway and a main bathroom. The upstairs bedrooms open out onto a small terrace and there is a roof terrace above those with excellent views of the surrounding countryside, mountains and valley to Mojacar and the sea. There is a small front garden, - gravel with shrubs. You will have a key to the excellent large shared swimming pool and gardens for the Rosales which does not get busy.
This is a small "town house" but with lots of rooms and a feeling of space for its size. There is air con and heating in every room, satellite TV and DVD, fully fitted kitchen with new appliance including fridge freezer, cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, etc. Linen and towels provided but you need your own beach/pool towels. The house is beautifully decorated, nice furniture, lamps, etc.
There are also nice country walks and the new village is very safe, quiet and child/family friendly.
When looking out of the house you will be seeing another house. However, walk for 30 seconds and you are in open countryside that surrounds the newly built village of Huerta Nueva. The house is not on a road as you enter the small “Street” (a brick pathway) that is "Los Rosales" through a gate. Most of the properties in the "Street" are owned or rented by people who live there. There are very few holiday rentals so the pool area does not get busy. Each "street" in the village has its own gated pool area and gardens and also has ample off-road parking.
It's a residential area, where your children can make as much noise as they want, but you will not be in the hustle and bustle of a holiday development. However all of the holiday attractions of Mojacar Player are nearby by car.
Los Gallardos is walking distance and offers true Spanish bars restaurants and shops (very little English spoken). Supermarkets, shopping malls and all holiday amenities are nearby in Mojacar Playa, Mojacar town or Turre by car.

The Costa de Almeria region
Huerta Nueva lies in a valley of orange groves next to the small traditional town of Los Gallardos. By car you will be ten minutes from the famous enchanting ancient hilltop “white-town” of Mojacar.
Mojacar / Los Gallardos area
Nearby Mojacar Player offers , water slides, tourist restaurants and bars, two or three excellent outdoor night clubs, ice cream parlours, evening outdoor wine bars, and so on. Within half an hours drive you have a wide choice of quiet sandy beaches with good swimming – even a naturist beach at Vera if you are so inclined. Vera Playa, Garrucha and the spectacular Beach of the Dead (in the national park) are within between 15 and 30 minutes by car. Also close by are Go Karting, a big Water Park, Golf, Green Bowls, Horse Riding and the Film Studio where they shot most of the Clint Eastwood Westerns (great day out for the kids and the grown-ups!). If you want to venture further you have Alhambra at Granada 2 to 3 hours away – pretty much a lifetime must see.
Mojacar town itself is special. A labyrinth of tiny ancient streets dating back to before Christ. It’s on a steep hill offering breathtaking views for miles. The first non-Spanish residents were hippies in the 60’s – all gone now. It offers a mixture of shops, excellent small restaurants, bars and so on. Very pretty and un-commercialised. (Walt Disney was born there and the story is that the CIA were sent in the 1950's to eradicate all traces of his humble beginnings!)
On the way to Mojacar there is a quiet late-night very interesting/bar restaurant owned by a local famous artist (who lives in Madrid) which is a sophisticated little maze of rooms and gardens dripping with interesting art. I’ve never seen more than 10 people in there at one time and it’s one of my favourite places to spend time in the world. When I used to take my band over to Mojacar we’d always end up there at 4 am coming down after a gig.
How to get there
Easyjet or Ryanair to Almeria (45 mins from Airport), or to Murcia (1.15 hour from Airport), or Alicante (many airlines - 1.45 hours from airport)
Huerta Nueva is a new village in quiet countryside next to the old town of Los Gallardos. 2 mins from the motorway and ten mins from Mojacar. Exit Motorway (coming from Almeria) at sign for Los Gallardos. Go across the mini roundabout. Follow the road for ½ a km and turn right into Huerta Nueva nearly at the bottom of the hill as you pass the small town of Los Gallardos on your left (if you see petrol station go by on your right at bottom of hill then turn around). Keys at Casa Noel, (my father's house - he named HIS house after me to confuse you!) 2 mins walk away
