Situated on the south east coast of Spain, the house is a stones throw from the beach and nestled in between the white-washed hill town of Mojacar and the Nijar-Cabo national park.

With over 10kms of beaches and huge range of local amenities, this makes a great holiday home for a group of friends or for the whole family.

Mojacar / Playa Macenas area

Playa Macenas
A stunning new development located around the headland of Mojacar Playa, over looking the ocean and backing onto the mountains and hills of the Nijar-Cabo national park. Playa Macenas offers an 18 hole golf course which is beautifully designed to provide the backbone to the resort, communal pool, beach club pool, children's pool, pool bar and restaurant and sun terrace. With classic white box Spanish architecture this resort offers sun, sea and quite for a relaxing holiday.

Around the headland from the resort, is Mojacar Playa - This is the 10 km beach front area and you will need a car or taxi to access most of the amenities.

In addition to the facilities at the resort and all the local beaches, there is a huge range of things to do in Mojacar Playa and the surrounding area for all the family, from sunbathing to shark feeding. Mojacar Old Town -Start by getting to know the old hill town of Mojacar with its Moorish fortress, El Torreon, and its labyrinth of charming cobbled back streets. Wander through the maze of boutiques, bars and street cafes and savour the rich history and warm Spanish hospitality of this ancient town.Just a 10 minute car drive from the villa you can enjoy a coffee on the town square where you can look out across the area and down to the sea. With its classic white box houses and tiny streets this little town is worth a visit.

Restaurants - You are spoilt for choice of where to eat with restaurants, bars and cafes all the way along the 10km beach front. There is a restaurant to cover all tastes from Indian and Chinese, to classic Tapas and of course the full English breakfast! Many restaurants do take-away's as well.

In the Evenings - The liveliest night-life is down at the seafront where you'll find live music and entertainment in the bars and hotels until the small hours (all night during the summer months).

One of our favourites is the Mandala beach Club Mojacar, which opened summer '08, is a spectacular venue for groups looking for a big night out; adopting the best trends, usually led by the Beach Clubs in Miami, adding impressive Asiatic aesthetics. Located in a stunning venue right on the beach; by day the beach club offers a relaxed atmosphere by the sea 12 - 5pm, from then onwards Mandala re-invents itself with Dj's raising the temperature for that ultimate Beach Club by the sea experience until 6am every day (7am at weekends).

If you are looking for a good knees up, one of the liveliest bars is the Irish Rover where you can enjoy a pint of Guinness, live music, Irish dancing and a great atmosphere. Roly's bar organises regular evening entertainment geared to British visitors. And Badger's Bar, owned by former Aston Villa player Keith Bradley is another lively popular meeting place.

For the Children - All along the beach front are play areas for children with slides, swings and small football pitches. There is a good outdoor play area in the centre of Garrucha with a mix of equipment for all ages.

Water Parks - Parque Aquatico Vera - just a 20 minutes drive to Vera or Mario Park Parque Aquatico, Roquetas de Mar - Approx 1 hour 30 mins drive away offering plenty of slides, pool, wave machine, kids pool and slide.

Wild West Theme Park - Oasys 'Mini Hollywood', Tabernas - 1 hour by car, and highly recommended by everyone we have spoken to, Mini Hollywood is a theme park and zoo set in the desert landscape of Tabernas.

Horse Riding - Available at Cueva del Loba Riding, Mojacar Playa - 5 minutes by car, located on the beach front this stables offers lessons or trail rides with certified instructors. A short drive from the villa ( approx 30 minutes) is Rancho Cabrera - here you are into the hills where Rancho Cabrera offers rides from 1 hour to a full day.

Motoring - Go Karting in Garrucha a 10 mins drive away and for the more adventerous Off road tours in Landrover Discioveries are catered for locally.

Scuba Diving - a number of schools are available for day and night dives.

Fishing - half and full day boat trips available from Garrucha and Villaricos. Alternativelty cast from the beach or off the rocks for great fishing on your doorstep.

Aquarium - Roquetas Aquarium, Roquetas de Mar - A brand new state of the art aquarium, approx 1 hour 45 mins away, different aquatic zones are beautifully presented and range from tropical freshwater and tropical marine to the open ocean, housing numerous sharks and other marine species. Not only is there an 80 seat auditorium where you can attend lectures and shark feeding displays but for the very brave (and 160.00euros!) you can go for a shark dive in the main tank!! Entry price Adult 17 euros and Children 9 euros.

The historic city of Granada, with its fabulous Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens, is only an hour and a half's drive west of Mojacar. Make sure you book tickets for the palace in advance if you go in high season because this is one of Spain's top tourist attractions and visitor numbers are restricted.

From Sea to Ski in under 3 hours - Travel south of Granada and explore the magnificent Sierra Nevada mountain range, the home of Europe's most southerly ski resort. On its southern slopes you'll find the spectacular Alpujarras region - truly one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring places in the whole of Spain.

How to get there

The nearest airports are Almeria (45 mins) and Murcia (75 mins). Alicante airport is approximately 2.5 hours drive away.

Easy Jet fly from Gatwick to Almeria, and Ryanair fly from Bournemouth to Murcia. Car hire is recommended to get to the resort from the airport and also to give access to the great variety of beaches along the coast road.

Ground Floor
The villa is a mid terrace house with open plan kitchen, dining room and spacious sitting room on the ground floor. The kitchen offers everything you need for a self catering holiday with 4 ring gas hob, oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine; all brand new.

The dining area has a large table and 4 chairs and leads into the spacious sitting room with sofas, coffee table and large flat screen TV with DVD player. Downstairs also includes a twin bedroom with separate WC and shower and large double wardrobe.

First Floor
Upstairs comprises of a master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite (bath, double sink, separate WC and bidet), two large double wardrobes and terrace doors onto a private terrace and stairs leading to the secluded roof terrace. There is also an additional mezzanine area with a double sofa bed for children or another couple.

Roof Terrace
The roof terrace offers fantastic views of both the mountains and the ocean and is perfect for a quiet drink in the evening to watch the sun go down.
