Home description
Cortijo Grande is an up market area in one of the most beautiful locations in Andalucia, a lush green valley nestling beneath the spectacular Sierra Cabrera mountains. The Villa Bella Vista enjoys spectacular views and is in an excellent position in the valley. It is close to bars and restaurants both in Cortijo Grande as well as at nearby Cabrera and the villages of Turre, Mojacar, Garrucha etc.
The villa is very charming and private, comfortable with an enormous terrace overlooking the golf course. The views are spectacular. It is ideal for entertaining and al fresco dining. Lovely secluded pool, surrounded by spectacular red tinted boulders. This is an ideal family holiday home. For golfers too it is perfect, with the villa overlooking the first fairway.

The Costa de Almeria region
The Costa Almeria has more sunny days than anywhere else in Europe & offers the chance to enjoy aspects of Spain as it used to be, before the over development of the other more famous Costas. The towns & villages along the coast and inland are refreshingly low key while at the same time the area offers the excellent restaurants and bars and the lively nightlife you expect to find in today's Spain. The ancient Moorish heritage is rich and evident in the people, places and customs. Long sandy beaches abound with their attendant chiringuitas or beach bars, often offering excellent food for when you and your family tire of the beach. There are unique aspects, one of the most famous being Mini Hollywood where the days of the Almeria film history of Spaghetti Westerns and other famous movies are celebrated and your family can enjoy a day out with spoof gunfights etc.,
Mojacar / Cortijo Grande area
Cortijo Grande is in many people's eyes the most beautiful valley in Andalucia. From the air the verdant countryside is in stark contrast to the desert type terrain found elsewhere in Almeria. The long valley is home to a golf course and is dotted arounjd with villas etc. widely spaced over this large area. The views are astonishing, with subtle colour changes as the sun moves through the day. It is a wonderful place to enjoy for a holiday, and many people come back time and time again and indeed many have bought property in this up market area. Cortijo Grande benefits from a good number of excellent restaurants, both in the valley and nearby. Local villages and towns are a short distance away and the beaches at Mojacar Playa are only 15 minutes drive.. Further afield but still only a reasonably short drive are the cities of Granada, Almera, Murcia and Alicante. The ancient Moorish village of Mojacar, only 10 minutes away, is perched on a hill overlooking the sea. It's white cube architecture attracts photograpers and painters, and there are many small boutiques, bars and restaurants to explore. Every local community in the area has it's fiestas and if you are lucky enough to be on the spot, these are very enjoyable although you may well pay the price of a sleepless night and a splitting headache. Local towns and villages worth a visit include Turre, the nearest, only 5 minutes away, which has shops, bars, restaurants, a supermarket and a Friday market. Garrucha is a thriving fishing port with marina and many bars and restaurants as well as a supermarket and many other shops, as well as a Friday market. Vera is the largest local town, with all facilities present, and a Saturday market..

The 4 bedrooms are on the lower floor and 3 have lovely views and open onto a pathway leading to the pool just a few paces away. Both bathrooms have a shower in addition to the tub. Upstairs is the living area including living room and dining room. Both of these rooms open onto the terrace and have lovely views. The kitchen is off the dining room and both kitchen and living room open onto the rear patio where the barbecue is located. 3 of the bedrooms have air conditioning while the other is provided with effective fans. In winter the aircons are used for warming the bedrooms and there are moveable gas heaters for the rest of the villa. The living room also has an open fireplace.
Further details outdoors: The Bella Vista is very private, tucked away from the road up a driveway, and in fact the villa itself is largely out of sight as you drive by. The villa is dominated by a huge terrace which stretches the width of the villa and beyond. This is ideal for sitting out and enjoying the wonderful views as well as, of course, for partying and entertaining. At one end of the terrace is a shaded area for al fresco dining. Surrounding the villa is an attractive garden with mature trees. The lovely pool is a recent addition and offers complete privacy. There is parking for up to 3 cars.
