The Costa de Almeria region
The Almeria coastal region has fantastic weather allowing you to enjoy a break at any time of the year. The Almería climate is almost desert like leading to some dry, barren landscape in places, but with the compensation that you are virtually guaranteed wall to wall sunshine! Driving through the province you can see, even just out of the car window, a whole range of different coloured rock formations, tumbled down silver mining works, dramatic mountain and coastal scenery. The Almería coastline is made up of miles and miles of beaches - plus sheltered coves where you can soak up the sun in private.
Mojacar / Mojacar Playa area
Mojácar and the other local towns of Garrucha, Vera and Carboneras all have a weekly street market.
If you are an enthusiast, there is a horse riding stables a short drive away - hacks and lessons can be arranged.
Take a day trip to one of the nearby villages and have lunch sitting outside in the sun admiring the scenery.
If you are a walker and want company, there is a local walking group who arrange local walks twice weekly with varying degrees of difficulty.
How to get there
By air: to Almeria airport (LEI) - approx 50 mins by car to Alicante airport (ALC) - approx 150 mins by car to Murcia airport (MJV) - approx 120 mins by car.
Many low cost airlines fly into these airports such as Ryanair, Easyjet, Jet2, etc. plus there are British Airways flights into Alicante from London Gatwick (LGW). . .
By road: Motorway access is 15 minutes away. Take the E15 motorway turnoff for Los Gallardos at km 525 - full directions will be provided on confirmation of booking
By coach: to Mojacar from Madrid, Barcelona, Murcia, Granada, Almeria, etc.
Car hire: can be arranged on-line for collection at the airport - or can be arranged with a local company for airport collection. l Possibility of arranging "over 70" rentals with local company whose insurance covers this type of rental agreement - for local collection or airport collection.

Further details indoors: This property is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, in an elevated location, giving views of the surrounding countryside. There is a private terrace which can be accessed directly from the lounge/dining room, and is equipped with table, chairs and loungers. Cushions for the garden furniture are stored in box on the side terrace which also has a swing seat - an ideal spot for reading and relaxing.
The lounge has sofa, armchair, dining table and chairs, plus satellite TV. There is access into the recently refurbished kitchen equipped with all you need for self catering - dishwasher, oven, ceramic hob plus washing machine - with a view as well.
There is a double bed in the main bedroom and two singles in the other bedroom, both bedrooms having fitted wardrobes
